Party makeup question

Alright, so I'm planning to make a run through SoA and ToB with the assension and freedom reign mods installed (actually, not sure about freedom reign.. are the new items balanced?)
I'm going to take a party of 4 this time, including myself (a mage of some sort) and Jeheira. However, I need help deciding what type of mage to pick (sorceror, wild mage, some sort of multiclass) and what two other npcs to bring along.
Can you guys give me some advice as to how to make this into a solid party. The alignment isn't a real issue.
Thanks.

Freedoms Reigns items are, imo, not balanced at all.
It seems to me that the maker of this mod had the idea of making at least one great item for every class, which is a good idea, but I think that it backfired on him.
The items you get are really powerful and you get many of these early.
So either you get a ton of items of great power early on, or you sell them and get 100,000 gp in no time.
Besides, you can't uninstall it without making a copy of your override folder.
About the npcs, I think you should get at least one good fighter. Jaheira isn't bad, but she won't be able to be your main tank - not until late in the game anyway.
I would suggest Keldorn - with the gauntlets of dex - and maybe some sort of ranged attacker - Mazzy's not a bad choice here. She's great with a shortbow and can definitely stand her own in melee, and she comes with some great extra abilities.
If you get Keldorn, I would suggest a conjurer for your mage. Keldorns Inquisitor-abilities makes divinition spells deduntant for a mage - exept maybe for identification.
If you go with a sorceror, and it's your first time, ask either UserUnfriendly or another experienced Sorceror player on which spells to pick.

If alignment isn't a factor, take Korgan as your tank. He's the best tank in the biz.
jan is an excellent back-up mage and his thief-skills are very good.

I'm sorta leaning towards sorceror, for the sheer versitility (no, it's not my first time through) but I thought I'd consider the wild mage as well, and a fighter/mage just because my group is small.
As for the other things, yes, I realize I need some tank other then Jeheira. In that, I'm looking to chose between Keldron and Korgan/Saravok.
As for my last character, I was thinking a backliner of some sort.. probably Imoen, for story development and also because I need a thief.
What I'm not really sure of is weather I can make it through the game without a cleric.

Damyr, regarding your last question on whether you can survive without a Cleric.. YES.. that is possible. Hence the success of many ppl solo-ing the game (not as a Cleric)!
If you get injured.. just go to a temple (if it's REALLY that serious), or just rest.

With jaheira you don't really need a cleric...

With the Rod of Resurrection you don't need a cleric, either. Not to mention the abundance of healing potions throughout the game.

Also when your mage reaches a high enough lvl you can summon a Planetar and they have a fair few cleric spells
