Whose charisma matters?

party leader?
guy who clicks on merchant?
average of party?
other?

The character who's portrait is at the top of the column on the right of the screen. By default that's the PC, but you can change the order, simply put the character with the best charisma at the top by dragging the portrait. Remember the Friends spell though, if for example Garrick is in your party and casts the spell he'll almost certainly be the best one to have at the top.

Thanks! I missed out so far on prices. I am going to have Dynaheir cast friends on Imoen and maybe now I can pick pocket for the algernon cloak .

Bonus question:

Is the effect on shopping capped at a certain number? 18? 25?

Effectively capped at 25 Charisma and 20 reputation as that's the highest they can go.
