How old is Abazigal (spoilers)

Ok, i always thought that all bhaalspawn were conceived during the time of troubles, and in such a case, all of them should be about the same age, but...
Abazigal is an adult, very powerful dragon, and his son seems to be adult as well, so Abazigal should be at least 300 years old, and so he was born waaaaay before the time of troubles. How come?
Also, one thing always bothers me...
If i remember correctly, at BG1, you start adventuring at about 20 years old. That's ok if you are human, but if you are an elf, for instance, you should be a child (please, correct me if i am wrong, but i don't know how fast elves age PHYSICALLY). Well, you wouldn't be a child mentally for you grew up with humans, but... ah, could someone just explain this to me?

I have thought the same thing. How does a 20 year old dragon have a fully adult son? It just doesnt make any sense.
And stranger still, sendai, how does an elf gather such a large army while only 20 some. Imagine an 8 year old running the united states. No, bush only has the intelligence of an 8 year old.

Apparently all bhaalspawn age faster, as your PC can be an elf as well, no?

In the intro movie to soa, the narrorator says "one such diety forsaw his own death, and walked the land before the cateclysm. He left a score of mortal protegeny..." (bleh, forgive my spelling
) So apparently the bhaalspawn were born before the time of troubles, and that kinda explains things.

I always assumed elves were more magical in their lifespans, as in LoTR; since they live so long "dying" is more a conscious desicion to move on rather than a frail old body giving up. Hell, you're bound to get bored after 1,200 years.
So by this theorette, after getting to a certain "age" elves just stop visibly aging. Okay, so that's my explanation for Adalan the Elf being fully grown at 20. Pffft.
So, dragons? Well. It's all fun, isn't it? We can assume that the Bioware team decided the fun factor of having a dragon Bhaalspawn outweighed the logic conflicts. And it avoided them disappeared completely up their arses. So... yeah.
As for the armies, most of these were created through strength of power and bullying by the Bhaalspawn. Hell, just look at your player character by the time you reach ToB. I'd be scared into conscription.

for elves they are usually physically mature(ignoring subraces for the time being) by about 100 years old(forgot the teen age for elves can't find complete handbook of elves atm)
now this is a rather large plothole in the storyline i concure
drow mature a decade or two earlier then most surface elves(which actually kinda fits with evolution and the society if you think of it) of course they usually live shorter as well, for various reasons
