Hi, forum newbie here with what's probably a basic question. I've been playing the GOG version of BG2 for weeks with no problem, but yesterday I had a BSOD error while playing. Since then, the game has been locking up whenever I try to enter certain locations (e.g., the Sea's Bounty, the barn next to the Shadow Thieves guildhall). I've tried restarting the game, restarting my computer, and loading different saves, none of which has fixed the problem. Lacking any better ideas, it seems the next thing to do is uninstall and reinstall the game to fix whatever got corrupted in the BSOD. But before I do that, I want to ask whether, if I backup my save game files before uninstalling, I'll be able to load them on a new install? Or will I have to give up all my current saved games (which would suck)?

As long as the version and optional mods remain exactly the same, there won't be a problem.
