Hi, I am having a little problem , or maybe not I just want to know if what is happening is norma, I dont think so.
I am playing BG2 Throne of Bhaal, at the moment I am facing Abazigal, when I hit enough for him to turn into a Dragon, It casts a spell or somthing that sends all my characters flying away, the problem is that it stays i movie mode, I mean Character portraits dissapear, all menus dissapear, and I have no control over the party, and it stays like that.
Please help

The movie mode is supposed to happen when Abazigal changes to a dragon. There's no real warning or dialogue, it just happens. It can be kind of confusing since there's always a ton of stuff going on at the time, at least with the improved fight.

If it is getting stuck like that, and the fight doesn't continue it's probably a technical glitch. Try reloading.

I'm rebringing this into discussion since I just met the same problem. Once Abazigal changes to a dragon, I lose completly the control over my characters and everything takes place as in a movie sequence...

Anyone can help, please?

Ah, yeah, reloading doesn't help.

I had the same problem in Icewind Dale when I killed an evil Priestess.

Is it in movie or a dialog mode? and does it happen before or after or even during the fight? It's probably just a technical glitch, but try re-loading from an auto-save just to make sure (If you haven't already).

Or are you just hiding your control panel? Hit "H" and see if it reappears that way...

I may be able to help if I can get more detail.

Facing Abazigal

Hi! I just downloaded the patch for BGII ToB, and worked just fine. I think you can download it right here from GameBanshee or at Black Isle.com. Tough battle with abazigal, cast all protection spells you can and keep your spell casters at a good distance
Good luck...

Hello,

To gcabiat: I think I have a patch installed; I'm not sure if it's the last version... I'll update that; hope it's gonna help; thanks a lot.

To Aqua-chan: well, I keep fighting him in human form and when he 'dies', there's small movie sequence showing him changing into a dragon. What happens is that from now on I don't get the interface back; it's like the movie sequence doesn't end. I just see the animation of the dragon fighting my characters but I lost totally the control over my party...

Thanks!

The thing is (and a lot of Moderators will agree with me on this one for a change) the Abazigal battle is *very* buggy. There is a lot of technical complications in ToB, but I noticed them the most in this area.

I had an issue where after I fought Abazi, he spoke his last words and the dialgue scene never ended.

I can recommend two things to you:

1. Try updating your patch. If you have the most rescent version already, download it again.

2. If that doesn't work, then either use an Auto-Save to go to another area and do some work there (Like Watcher's Keep or Sendai's Enclave) and come back later to see if that works. If it doesn't, then I hope you haven't gotten to far in the game...I had to re-install ToB before my Abazigal problems cleared up. :( I hope you won't have to do the same.

I can't offer you any technical support (In fear I may mess up your system like I did to mine), but maybe if you find Fable, Astafas or Sabre, they might be able to find a better way to help you out.

Patch

Keep in mind thaht there are 2 different patches one for BGII and an other for BGII ToB, Just in case you didn't know.
As soon as you defeat Abazigal's human form and turns into a Drango you get a short movie sequence, but you can gain control over your party right away. That is what I fixed with the ToB Patch.

Good luck

Thanks a lot guys; installing the new patch for ToB worked like a charm.
