Can someone aid me in defeating him...
I can kill him time by time but unfortunately only me or a second character stays in my group ...
the rest is freed but I cannot start talking to them to join the group again ...
They seem busy????
I tried this time after time...

Is there a way to do it wit a main character who is a fighter???

That crypt is not a party required area. Send in only the protected people.

I know drop them ... that means going in with my main and he's a fighter an stays for 2 secs before he is put in another dimension ....

Like Xyx said, send in the ones that survive when you face him with your whole group, leave the rest behind.

voodoo, its easiest with sorc main guy, but hey, I run a magic heavy party myself, and have sorc solutions to just about every situation. but quite simply, do NOT drop anyone, select your "volenteer", and send him in.

if mage, memorize 1 spell immunity and as many melf minute meteor and energy blades as possible. if fighter, make sure you have sroll of protection from magic.

easy way is to use spell immunity abjuration just before going in, and use energy bladed, 3 casts to whack him.
scroll is even easier, use simmy to cast without using up, on korgan with some +4 or higher weapon, or mace of disruption +2.

easiest way is to have aerie cast spell immunity and use mace of disruption. 3-7 whacks, you have got loot!!!

Black Blade of Disaster works too, if you're a mage. Plus there's a chance that the demilich will be disintegrated.

No need fancy tactics. Leave the whole party and just send in the main char and change to slayer form immediately after u get in. Slayer is almost totally immune to his magic just hack away

Am I the only one that uses a pProtection from Undead scrool in these battles if my main character is a fightertype? It's very cheap and can be bought almost anywhere. Besides, you don't lose 2 rep (slayer) a lvl 8 spell (simulacrum) or any other thing, but around 900 gp...

Granted, the battle is very very ease this way, but it's the same with spell immunity or prot. from magic.

I don't like the prot from undead or prot from magic scrolls. Especially the prot from magic scroll is weird, such a scroll should be priceless really. It feels less cheesy to use spell immunity.

Thx everyone 4 the advice.
In fact I had finished it already
a few times ... reason that I could not talk 2 other characters was that main was deafened... DOH !
Means it tried this 10 times 4 nothing
Finally did it with mage, timestop and horrid ... easy

Is it just me or doesn't anyone realize a demi-lich is an undead creature?
Sure it can't be turned but...anyone try Sunray?

Makes him toast quicker than any slayer. ;)

Never thought of that, I just assumed he was immune to magic all the way.
Gonna try that next time.

Well I just fought this guy again and I am sorry to say that sunray does not work on him nor does any other spell. Strangely mace of disruption doesn't work either. Undead destroyed message comes up but the demi-lich remains.
As always a good old bashing is the most reliable way of killing in BG.

I agree. Very weird indeed. However the last time I used that tactic was before BG2 even had a first patch released so maybe it has been fixed? Or maybe I was just lucky... ;)

Does the Demi-Lich at least take some damage from the Sunray? Heck, even Melfs Minute Meteors hits him. And they are nothing compared to Sunray...

Just cast a single dragon breath and the lich will be toasted.

Eh I don't think dragons breath will affect him either but I am not sure. Anyway he is dead now so...

Nope, dragons breath fires him REAL good, one hit kill. Easy. Also, gave imeon a really good "most powerful foe vanquished" thing.

MWHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA
What I dont get however, is how you can be hit by a red dragons full powered breath and STILL have 200000 gold pieces in tact, wouldnt it be in one big lump?
