It seems that there is a table and a triangular shaped compartment beneath it or on it? But I can't access it without accessing the table?
How can I access it?

I don't know of any specific solution, sometimes I got the cursor to highlight the one and sometimes the other, but IIRC there is nothing worth trouble in there, one health potion or something like that.
