Role playing an evil character

I just started a new game with a LE monk, and man, its impossible to get ANYTHING in the game. Example freeing hendak and the slaves, my PC has nothing against slavery, so long the slaves are his, the game provides no option to take over the guys racket. I must admit though, the strong hold is good to roleplay, but then no one likes you.
The game is too built for good-power gamers

Thats more neutral evil scurrying about for a reward. I rather kill the guy in charge and take over.

Try Arcanum, or either of the Fallout games. All are by Troika, and all allow you to gradually build up a good or bad reputation, which gives you bonus points. In Arcanum, for instance, one of my characters rubbed out one of the two bosses in a major town after being "commissioned" by the other one. After that, a character who's never wanted to speak with me in a seedy area of another town suddenly became friendly, and offered to initiate me in the Thieves Guild if I'd steal a map of the sewer system.

Yeah, the game seems to more or less push you into the good choices with greater rewards of xp. I tried to do the evil road, and prices were outrageous. Why do I have to either pay the prices or attempt to steal? If I get caught stealing, the storekeep goes hostlie and I have to kill him, meaning I can't buy aything anymore. Couldn't they just let me kill himand take whatever is in the shop? Now THAT would be nice.

Logically, there should be *some* underworld activity in BG2 where an LE character can check in and buy goods--at a cost of forking over a large percentage of their ill-gotten wealth to the LE boss. Of course, CE types would be hunted to the death by everybody not in their own group, but that's the problem with Gygax's arbitrary alignments.

Not that true Fable, I mean, CE people band together with CE people. Who here would care to take on Edwin, Sarevok, and Korgan, not the cowled wizards or the order. Not to mention those guys in the sewer, and any other croonies they could round up. If you took all the CE characters out there against all the LG characters, CE would own. But of course, good would win out eventually.

Eventually, some PC would come along and say "My, what kind of EXP would I get for killing all the bad guys." Then they ask you to join them and you get 1000 exp. You agree to fight them and get 25000 per member. Gotta love BG for that.

I see LE as Don Corleone godfather types. Perfect for LE fighters. I mean if I sit in my stronghold, I'm not going to want to set out after idiot Imoen. I'd send Fat Clemenza to do it. Or use my underworld connections and tell the Cowled Wizards to foreclose the place, and doom the damn isle.
I think that all these arguments for negative reputation giving you better prices is just crap. I mean you have to do something like a display of power before they bow down. I mean alot of storekeeps will just say hate you and charge you higher. They won't fear you at first. Then you go in and bust up their shop, break their ankles and hold their kids ransom, THEN you get what you want.

Agreed. Logically, if you're LE, you'd find a syndicate to join. After you joined, you'd get discounts at the syndicate-influenced stores, while the others refused to serve you.
I think prices in BG2 should generally be raised if you shoplift successfully. It stands to reason that after a while, some merchants are going to get suspicious, and spread the word--even if you don't do the ultimate cheese act of stealing an expensive, one-of-a-kind item and sell it back repeatedly. Merchants in that situation would find reasons to not serve you, to watch more carefully, and hire extra guards.
