Life of a cuttthroat and OC

I want to make a rogue. And need some build advice.

This guide recommends going full batshit on charisma and persuade, like 16 char and constant persuade pumping. No other guide or thread I found anywhere even considered more than 8 char. The linked guide is rather ancient (2002) but I kinda like the idea of a silver tongued cutthroat. The question is: how much will it matter in NWN OC? Does high charisma really affect anything?

I can't really agree with that guide.

The biggest thing it will affect is your appraising. Persuade.. not so much in the NWN OC. There a bit more use of Diplomacy in NWN2, but you still have to wade through a lot of enemies either way. I'd give you advise on builds, but my NWN knowledge isn't what it used to be. I mix up a lot of feats and and mechanics from NWN2.

I would choose a class that has a more direct benefit from Charisma in combat. If memory serves, in NWN1 the RDD for example has unlimited use of the dragon breath attack (in NWN2 you only get 1 use per day). Charisma is very important in that attack roll, so you can really go wild on it. I think the RDD also has persuade as a class skill.

There are items with high charisma boost. Some of the henchman quests give iirc a +5 item and a +4 (with regen) item for a total of +9.. iirc

I wonder if sorceror?
