the damned door from the Slime Library to the Ice Lab won't open. Only rooms left to be opened are Fire Lab and Ice Lab. all libraries and the rest of the work has been done. it says locked

That level can be a pain if you're not doing it in the right order - that is, if you don't enter the fire laboratory first, talk to the imp, deal with the big ventilator and so on. Now, I don't remember well enough, but there is one extra key in the green room (poison laboratory or whatever they call it), a "normal" key like you get elsewhere in the game, and it opens either the door you're talking about, or the other one. Plus, this is a bit counter-intuitive, but I seem to recall some of the laboratories can open if you have the "rod-key" from another laboratory. Are you sure you picked them up?

I first entered the Slime Library instead of the Fire one.
I hae the Air Control Rod, if thats what you're talking about. It is used to drive the fan in the Air Lab quicker so that the fog spreads out into the Ice Lab.

That key is used to open the door between the Slime Library and the Slime Lab

Strange I always start with the Air lab and go clockwise, so the fire lab is always the last one I enter, never had any problems doing it that way.

Well I remember it messing up when I jumped around the rooms once but it may have been a bug. I still think having those rods is important when accessing the laboratories. If you have accessed the Slime Library and the Slime Laboratory, you should also have the green rod-key from the venomous serpent therein. Have you picked it up? I distinctly remember not having done that once and meeting some locked doors.
