So in ToB you trip and stumble over +6 weapons lying in the streets. What happened to the other stuff?

Ring of Protection +5? +3 is the best the game offers. PnP-ers would kill each other in the debate over who gets to wear it. :D

Large Shield +5? +3 is all I know of.

Cloak of Protection +5? +2 is all.

Helmet +5? Not even close.

Amulet +5? Not even a +2...

I'm getting the distinct impression that "Bigger Is Better" only applied to stuff you could bash others over the head with. There must be some intriguing far-fetched psychological explanation for this. :D

Anyone?

Because amulets and rings usually don´t count as numbers like +2 but instead have their own unique abilities

LoL Xyx!

You're right where's the other stuff?
You don't need a good shield/amulet! You need a big weapon cuz no one care if you will die killing a dragon!

you dont need protection. the best defence is offence. i think. well, near enough anyway.

if your really bothered, make one and put it on an enemy

Wouldn't be able to use them with our +5 armours and Bracers of AC 0

Shield of the Order +4? Darksteel Shield +4? Those are some powerful shields... I still do agree with where are the ring +5s? (Ring of Gaxx is actually a ring +7 because of its abilities but whatever... :D )

That's a good point actually. There aren't enough armours and equipment to balance out the weapons. I suppose however, there arent as many classical references to powerful magical armour as there is to magic weapons. With exception to LOTR and the Hobbit, I can't think of any magical armours in stories
