Which ones are worth their money?

Thanks in advance!

But I asked wether or not other players deemed them worth their money, not the order in which to get them.

ok sorry about that, what i mean is if i could only get one at atime then i would get "Dragonborn first" is it worth $20, for me i would say yes. Dawnguard not $20 more like $10 and then Hearthfire free if you got the other 2

No problem. That's about what I suspected, thanks.

Gawain, if you're playing on PC then I'd also recommend checking out mod sites to see if there are any that you're interested in. As I've said elsewhere, while Hearthfire may not look great by itself, it supplies modders with a set of common libraries for house building, farming etc.

I haven't looked at the mods recently as I've been busy other games, but I suspect that a number of mods have come out that make good use of the tools in Hearthfire and may have it as a requirement. The same applies to the other two DLC as well.

So while I agree with Bluestorm in theory, that Dragonborn looks like the most interesting mod while Hearthfire looks like the least interesting one, that's only if you buy only the DLC and don't use any mods. If you use mods, and plan to play Skyrim long-term, I suspect that all three will be worthwhile.

Pretty much to confirm what others have said. And I think this goes pretty much for the entire Skyrim community. Dragonborn is definitely worth it. Dawnguard is not bad, and I would pick it on sale. Heartfire...... let's just say there are free mods that are better than Hearfire.

I think I'll await a sale then. The three DLCs combined cost as much as Skyrim, and despite having sunk a lot of time in Skyrim, I don't consider it such a great game in the end.

I think all of them are worth getting. For me - the best was Dragonborn - if you played Morrowind, you should like it.

Do you have to finish the main quest in Skyrim before doing the DLC Dragonborn?

No, the DLC will make itself known about halfway through the main campaign, and you can start it at any time if you know where to look.
