How to edit Quests in Dungeon Siege 2?

Hi, this is a question I haven't been able to find an answer to:
How do I edit documentation in Dungeon Siege 2 to change what NPCs say?
I'm also interested in changing books and other types of in-game dialogue.
I know this is possible because in mods people have changed quests.
Do I need to use Siege Editor 2, or a different program?
What exactly do I need to open in order for this to work?
