Please read - About Argyle board and BoTB.

Seeing as our numbers on the Argylian boards increase I'd like to make some points out:

We are not know as an organisation to the general population on the Argyle board.
Only the(some?) DMs over there know of us.
That means there should be no talk of BoTB or mention of knowlegde of each other from this board over there.

The reason: we are permitted to start a guild in-game when we reach high enough level. And our guild would/could be extrememly powerful (especially due to numbers), and if other guilds found out about this, before we could form this guild it would be extremely hard to get it up and running because some guilds would properly be threathen by us, and work against us (In-game of course).

So again - it would be best if nobody over there found out about Blades of The Banshee before we have created the guild in-game.
No talk of BoTB on Argyle.

Of course all of this is IMO, but also based on some mails, and threads where we have discussed this as the best course of action :)

No-one there, except the DMs, has any roleplaying-based need whatsoever to know about it...

I will, of course, not frantically try to hide the fact that I will be adventuring with a group of "Real Life" friends. Not a very big spoiler, if you ask me. ;)

Well said, however I do have a suspicion that we are not the only "secret" guild.

No doubt. Anyone checking on Argyle this much time in advance will either be part of a guild looking for a place to go (like us), or will probably find one before NwN finally arrives.

There are NwN guilds that were started in 1998 or so...

Yeah, yeah. So I screwed up, alright? :D Rhino PMed me and asked if I wanted the post removed. I relied yes. :)

All I did was ask one of the guild members (under the name "Garrett") if he was "BOTB". I am the guiltly one. Please don't burn me. :( ;) :D

@Gaxx: I saw it, but it was not so bad, and this one is thread is not directed at you, but our numbers (currently 45) have grown, and therefore I felt it neasecary to point out that we don't exist untill we can create/meet ingame :D

But we can use this board to identify each other "over there" after what I've seen most of our people use either their ingame name :)

Just point something out - I will get flamed for this :D - there are so many lurkers on this site, how do we know that none of them belong to a argyle guild?
And that we are no longer a secret!

We don't :D

But I find the possiblity slim (hopefully).

But there will properly be others with the same idea as us, but I doubt that they have our numbers - of course it is to early to talk about numbers for us, much will properly change when NwN comes out, and there the numbers can go way up, or go down :) (maybe we'll be to big for Argyle if all of us wanna play there :D )

I also thought that he was, "our" Garrett and was tempted to reply.

The guild will most likely grow much much larger as time progresses.
Also does argyle have a server which we connect to or how exactly do we connect to the world?

The guys at Argyle have plans for at least three servers on a large internet pipe with around four other cable modems to accomodate the size of the world.

This is basically a summary of one of the FAQ's and you could pretty much assume that they would have their own servers.

A distinct possibility, but not a real problem. If another guild wants to prevent us from establishing the Blades, they're still restricted by their in-game characters' knowledge.

More or less in the same way we're restricted by our in-game character knowledge when trying to get together and found the guild... Oops!

Has anyone bothered to, ehm, gather information on other Argyle guilds? I figure that a simple search of the Web might turn up something. :D Wouldn't be very nice, though; we don't want others to spy on us either. ;)

Followed a few links from the Guild board on Argyle. All appear to be as organised as ours, however they do require you to sign up to gain access to their boards.

And no I'm not going to sign up :p

Like you said, "Wouldn't be very nice". :D

Yep I've done a bit of research, Guild Sin have a site and their home is the Harbour (time for some Paladin cleansing :D ) and they are all evil characters. Cult of the Unholy or something are all clerics I believe (they too have a outside site but I cannot locate this). There is a few computer run guilds which you can find info on at Argyle'ssite :)

Well the only other guild on Argyle that is PC controlled is "Sin" the rest are Argyle created guilds that players can join.
Sin will most likely be centered in Habour, but branch out through Argyle.

Without reading much I'd sucpect guild Sin to come in "contact" with many of the others guild, either because they will branch into their field of influence, or because it seems Sin is mostly "evil" people.

The rest of the guilds are NPC controlled at start.

Ok so where are we going to be based?
Or where should we start off.
I have no idea where i will be starting.
Help would be nice.
On the argyle board there are ound 7 guilds.
I bet there are even more.

Ok what is this what our characters know is not what we the players know.
So if i know say xyz due to the board i can't join up with him on the NWN world?

Well this is a tricky part I myself have thought about somewhat.
The way I see it is that you can meet up with him, because you could know him "before" game start seeing as you are both residence of Argyle.

But what is meant by "meta-gaming", is that if your first character learns information your other character is not supposed to also know this information. This will be hard to do, but it can be done.

As to were to start I don't know where I'm gonna start from - but nobody says we all have to start the same place.

Also as for the location of our guild, when that times arrive, that is something we can discus at that time :)
