Why not leave the character at BoTB as it is now - then in SP or Argyle/MP try out some other characters and then decide wich you want to take into BoTB?
EDIT: that's the way I'm doing it.

Hey Craig,
I'm not for sure if i can understand your message (your sentence structure is a bit incoherent

), but are you saying that you might not play a bard because of your BG2 experience with one.
I must say, don't base your character choice on BG or BG2. You've gotta remember that 2nd edition rules for D&D very much limited character customization. And even more importantly, it was hard to really role-play certain types of characters in those CRPGs. Bards especially fit under that category.
I suspect that NeverWinter Nights will be as close to actual pen-and-paper roleplaying D&D as a computer game can get, so classes such as bard should be much more exciting to play. You can do a TON more with any class under the new 3rd Edition Rules.
Just my thoughts.
I definitely want to play a bard at one point.

A.Joe i was saying it was easier with the bard, at higher lvls! And the lower was harder also i'm re-playing ToTSC and finding it hard, also im roleplaying one in Magus' story and i was close to making him go berserk!

and i might even make him Deep gnome!!(I'm reading The dark elf trilogy)

I understand, but just be sure you don't base your NeverWinter Night character selection on game-play experiences with BG, because it will be totally different.
