By the time I got to Ashbury, my Tech rating was too high for the Elven Trader to be even willing to trade. What are my options to obtain this votive statue for the Ancient Gods quest? I'm willing to resort to cheats.

Kill him! Provoke him into attacking you, just make sure no cops are around at the time.

If that doesn't work drop extract the attached file to your /Arcanum/data/rules folder then go and visit your nearest junk dealer.
Be warned it also adds a lot of other stuff to vendors too, including waste bins and some creatures/npcs. It's up to you whether you take advantage of the added extras of course. Some other things it changes:
Allows you to buy medical kits from general stores, some grenades from gunsmiths; adds Teamster Gloves to the game that were for some reason left out. The latter of course is useless to a techy.
PS If you're already in Tarant, don't forget to advance time one day to reboot inventories.

PPS While I'm at it you could drop this file into the same directory. It changes the way NPC followers level up, allowing for example, Dumbo the Dwarf and Jayna to reach level 7 in tech trees. It also allows Virgil to get to level 5 in dodge and gain additional spells; the latter was a waste of time though as he never casts anythi9ng but healing spells the dork!
Correstion. Actually that version doesn't allow Virgil to get extra spells, but does allow him to become good at prowling and using a bow.

Can I use the file, save, and then remove it? Or would that cause incompatibility issues?

Which one? The invensource doesn't change anything in the game apart from inventories, so that should be no problem. It doesn't put anything into the game that isn't already there, although some items like the ones I mention can't be found/bought. They do work as advertised though, unlike the Necklace of Silence
!
The gamelevel one also shouldn't cause any problems, again there's nothing in it that isn't available in the vanilla game, it just allows followers to be more useful; well except magic users, they are beyond help!
Give the invensource one a while though, if you find anything you don't think appropriate you can either leave them or not buy them in the first place. For the most part it's just a time saver; if you need to make paralyzers then you are probably going to be forced to continually advance time until you have enough Potassium Chloride. So having them appear occasionally in waste bins just saves time; I guess it saves money too, but for a techy money grows on shock staves not trees!!!

The shopkeeper file doesn't appear to be working. So far, no junkdealer had a Li'Tani. It doesn't matter, anyway, I won't be doing the quest this playthrough. (See my other thread.)

Trade with the junk dealer in Tarant, which is IIRC the only junk dealer in the game, go ransack a bint, then advance tie by one day and the dealer should have one. Just tested it and it did work.

No it doesn't, I actually had a fight with him yesterday, the only person who went hostile was a guard who happened to be to near.

Read through the other thread by the way and the only reference I found was you being worried about it for some reason. Not sure why, certainly it has nothing to do with magic vs tech as most of the rewards are for techies as much if not more than for mages. Don't confuse magic with religion, think of it as divine intervention, as in Arcane/Divine split in AD&D.
Your reference to relying on Virgil still puzzles e too as at no part in the gods quest do you need Virgil or anyone else to revive you.

Yes, it does. Fought him, and the spectacle maker attacked me too.
Virgil = initially I thought I needed him to cast resurrection on me in the gods quest.
I'm not confusing Magick & Religion, I just think that it's too much bother with a techie to do it. (Li'Tani being a small problem, but all the overland travel to do the altars in the right order... I'm getting already a bit fed up with this character micro-management.)

Yep, the micro management with techies is a major annoyance. I've been playing a thief, no magic, well apart from the haste and strength spells, an no techs. So much easier, I don't have any companions, don't need them. Kept Virgil for a while, but wound up leaving him in the factory in Tarant (the one you clear for the gnome, my favourite storage depot).
Master Prowl and Master backstab mean hardly anything lasts more than one hit; have mastership in all thieves skills in fact, plus healing mastery. Well dodge and melee mastery too of course; having mastery in the former highli9thts what a massive cheat the bandits at Kree are, a well as the guards!!!

PS Even if the spec maker does attack, no big deal, a totally unnecessary character.
PPS As for the micro management - now you know why there are some weird stuff showing up in bins; apart from one or two test items I forgot to remove.

Attacking the spectacle maker makes the whole town hostile. Well, no problem anymore.
