This is my favorite RPG now. AWESOME setting. Nice controls of things like selling all, transfer to companion and so forth; make item shuffling easy. Good graphics which goes along with setting. Some cool quest easter eggs along with multiple paths for rewards. Rich character building options. Cool gear. Especially huge varieties of unique monsters ie not just different skins. <- these make the difficulty and player strategy vary from monster to monster. And there is an interesting side game once you SPOILER secret lair.

@Scottg, sorrry but I am pretty computer illiterate. My brother worked at apple and I got a big discount on my computer; he picked it out for me with my gaming needs in mind.
I found this

I'm using a GTX 470, and I didn't have any trouble with the highest settings (I had frame rate drops after 30-60 minutes of playing, but I'm not sure what the cause of that was).

Thanks guys!
470 seems to be almost double the performance of my 260..

I can honestly say that Van Helsing is not that demanding in case of GPU. My laptop was able to run the game fine with highest settings, no lag at all except few times the frame rate dropping after about hour or so. So far it seems to be a bug with the game itself, not everybody experiencing it (for me it happens at times) and can be solved by restarting the game.
For the record, my laptop has one those "special" graphic cards, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 545v. From a quick search I was able to find that GTX 270 has double the memory of my 545v and is either as good or better in other aspects as well. Based on this I'm quite confident that GTX 270 is able to run Van Helsing without problems, excluding problems caused by things which can be considered as bugs...

Hm, I may have to check this out once I've build my new pc. I just saw a few screenshots and thought it was a dumb anime-ish rpg thing.

It isn't. It's very worthwhile for the price.

I liked it as an ARPG. It is a lot like torchlight, but the setting is interesting and the monster types are interesting. It's short, but that is good for me because I hate having to quit a game before the end. I don't know for sure that anyone would like it, but I did and I can give my recommendation.
