Soryr for the late reply; forgot about this thread.
Anyway, without anything more specific to go on, advice is pretty hard to give.
I mean, beyond the obvious ones like "higher spell levels feature more powerful spells".
Some thoughts:
Personally, I like the cleric's "
symbol of pain / hopelessness" since they can be very helpful in disabling any adversaries. The druid gets some very useful summoning spells later on. The cleric's
Animate Dead (level 3) is also useful through many parts of the game.
Insect Plague (druid, level 5) comes in handy when you're fighting spellcasters.
The combination of the druid spells
Spike Stones (level 5),
Spike Growth (level 3) and
Entangle (level 1) with arcane spells like
Grease and
Web in an area will make it for most enemies to even reach your party.
Static Charge (druid level 4) is useful since you can cast it at the start of a battle and don't have to worry about it after that.
The cleric's "prayers" (
Prayer, Recitation, Righteous Wrath of the Faithful) are great for bolstering your party since their effects tend to stack with each other. I don't really like
Chant, since the priest can't cast any other spells while it lasts.
But the good thing about divine spells is that you get all of them every time your character gets a new spell level. That means you won't lose anything by giving all of them a try!
