slaver compound quest

I cannot get into the troll cage to free the little girl to finish the quest????
I have not installed any patches.........

Ok, I did this a long time ago, but IIRC the door is locked, so there is either a key on the body of a guard, or you need a thief/mage type to unlock it. If you've done this, then I'm not sure.

no..the game is bugged
no..the door is unlocked and open
I can not close/open the door or walk thru it????
I used wizards eye to see the girl and tried to talk to her, but that only sent my character up the stairs into the cell above???
I just installed the patch but still the problem persists???

The Control-j thing is a cheat and I believe you have to edit your Baldur.ini file to have it active in a games (just how this is done I do not know).
The particular problem you are having can be caused by having a troll - stuck - in the door/doorway. I just moved around until the troll reappeared, killed it (properly) and then I could go through the door.
Alternatively you can not be too far from your last Auto save, just do it again. All that edit cheating stuff is too difficult when a simple reload redo works too.
Lastly always patch the game up to the latest level if you can. Claiming something is a game bug when it is a known and fixed game bug isn't helpful (not that I believe this is). - Curdis !

Go to the directory where you installed BG2, there should be a file call baldur.ini, open it with NotePad. Add in Debug Mode=1 - as it is written - under [Program Options], save and close. Then load up your game, put the mouse cursor behind the door and press CTRL + J, your selected character/s will be teleport to that location.

This problem won't go away if you kill the troll while it's stuck. Baldurdash might have a bug fix, but I'm usually too lazy to see if they have it out of the 4 million other bug fixes they have.

does enabling the cheat code affect your character experience at all???

There is another cheat code to edit your characters' xp: [Strg][Space]: CLUAConsole:SetCurrentXP(amount) Definately no other cheat code will affect experience stats. You won't be punished for cheating, if you meant that.

I had this problem once, and since I didn't want to reload I tried every thing I could think of and found the answer. I had Minsc go Berserk and hit him once- which triggered the berserk and when he was in that form, he went into the room and attacked the troll. Then, when he was done, he talked to the girl, but he couldn't get back, since he only had one berserk, so I transfered his stuff to the rest of the party and killed him with ranged weapons, and then revived him on the other side.
