Opening chests outside fargrove in MMXII

Two problems. The chests outside the new player forest don't open. Second problem is that gorch or scorch the goblin that leads you to the sewer did not spawn for me.

IIRC, the E key is the action key in MMXII. Is that what you're pressing to interact the the chests?
Did you talk to the courier guy and get the message from him?

Hi swcarter. Yes I pressed E. And yes I talked to both the messenger with the letter and the fargrove gate guard. I'm going to try again just in case I messed up.

I wonder if I have a bug? I tried E on the chests. It did not work. The chest had a graphic of already opened.
Also scorch does not appear. I exhausted the dialogue with the messenger and the gate guard. This is frustrating
EDIT I found that I had an old post I vaguely remembered with the same problem. Yes my fault I didn't remember...
In that part you (swcarter) recommended I use administrator mode. That fixed the problem. So thank you from now and then swcarter!
