Help please Its been a year since I've played this game & I can't remember how to kill things. How do I defeat this Lich. Everybody keeps getting killed but my main player. Theres got to be an easier way to kill in here. These big bad guys in rings of fire keep coming alive and kicking mu butt. Any suggestions.

Any of the items which have Undead slaying powers are useful against liches.

Have you got your cleric to turn undead? (You may be surprised at the effect!).

The use of Peirce Magic, Kelebans Warding Whip, NOT ->Breach (only 5th lvl thanx Xyx), etc. spells cannot be ignored in any successful liche killing strategy.

High level Undead specific spells are also useful but if your turn ability is working - unnecessary. - Curdis !

The holy avenger is always nice against the unholy liches, either make a undead hunter to wield it or get Keldron.
My favorite is improved hasted melf's minute meteors with me, edwin, imoen and aeriee spamming while keldron and minsc do the shielding.
I just think it is more spectacular to kill this way!

Sunray toasts Deirex quite nicely for you. I always pick up the Daystar for that purpose.

You will think a weapon that cast a level 7 cleric spell would at least be a +4, that why I opted for the mindless bashing instead!

A paladin wielding carsomyr +5, wearing red dragon armor, helm of defense, ring of fire resistance should take down any lich quiet effective. Just hide the rest of your party and put the paladin in front of the lich and chop. This of course requires that you have a paladin.

Have your mages cast spell immunity to conjuration to be unnaffected by his damned symbols.Cast melfs minute meteors haste and true sight before entering the tower.Charge the lich with your tanks while the mages hit him with minute meteors-wonderfull spell-.Breach his magical defenses.Laugh when his mislead is dispelled by your true sight.Kill the lich.Works for me

No Breach... Lich immune to level 5 and lower spells.

How do you bypass his protections then?

Where do you get this daystar. Is it a sword or spell.

daystar is a blade obtainable at the city gates of athkatla. there is but one building you can enter in the city gates area. on the upper far wall from the entrance is a secret door. inside a lich. toast him and grab the daystar out of the chest. in fact, get the sword out of the chest and then kill the lich

Ironically, you have to get by a lich to get the daystar. His tomb is under the tavern in the city gates district. If you're too low a level, you can put on boots of speed and just run in with a thief and grab it. I always have that sword equipped.

Pierce magic and true sight should be all you need to kill him. Bolts of glory are fun too.

Oh well I can't get it where I'm at right now so I'll just have to make do. I've been to the city gates though becasue I think I got the ring of invisibility & stuff. I'll have to check though next time I play. Does all of this stuff come from the same chest or could I have got some things and left the daystar. Just wondering.

you can also get the rod of ugly suicide...someone posted about draining the wielders charisma to 0, killing the char automatically and I think removing from party...
