I have a question about whether Ranger can wear the Elven Chain Mail and still use Stealth. I mean, Fighter/Thiefs can, so why should a Ranger be any different ?
Another question about Rangers : I will finish my BG1 game soon with my Ranger PC, which kit should I choose when importing him to BG2

Yes, Ranger will still be able to use Stealth while wearing Elven Chains. As for the kits, it's up to you, although only the pure class Ranger will be able to wear Elven Chain - all of the kits are restricted to either Leather or no armour.

Yeah, I know that the kits won´t allow for armor heavier than studded leather. I just wondered whether the advantages of the kits are worth the restrictions.

Whether the kits are better than the pure rangerclass is entirely up to you to decide. It depends on what you like in a pc.
A stalker can backstab and stay around to melee as well. But then again, you might like a guy who can summon some help, like the beastmaster, or somebody who can do major damage with a bow, like the archer.

I myself have always gone pure ranger :) -9AC 154hp Equalizer and Blackrazor, I'm a complete killing machine (I could have even lower AC but I balance my group.... somewhat)
