Hey all,
I have a couple questons about Neverwinter nights, so if you can help me then thanks
.
I read somewhere that you can exort characters from SoA and ToB......is this true and if it is will there be a levelcap or penalty put on the higher level characers if and when they are exported?
Will there be any new character classes and/or races?
Well that is all i can think of at the moment, i will probably think of some more stuff later, so i will be back!
Thanks in advance

All starting characters are created equal. That includes imports.
Basically, the only things you'll be importing is Name, Race and Class. No items, no XP, no spells, no Bhaalspawn abilities.

NWN will have a level cap of 20 (3rd ed rules)

No it is not a cap. It is the RULES and cannot be removed or boosted without a hack of somesort.

Nope. All the BG2 stuff will be in. No Wild Mages. No Kits in 3rd Edition either (instead they have Prestige Classes, but these won't be supported in the initial release of NWN at the very least).

yeah...I am confused also.
How powerful will the DMing software be?
will the game be as delightfully hackable as BGII?
Is the single player just a gimmick, or is it actually gonna be a decent game?
plus, if spamming regulations are lax in here, are you any sort of authority on complicated scripting xyx?

The DM software will be very powerful, why hack the game though? The single player mode should be interesting.
These are the same people who made BG2 after all.
There is a seperate NWN forum which deals exclusively with scripting.

To answer your question here however...
The DM is allowed FULL custimisation of the world he has created. New creatures, weapons are at your fingertips and thus, new classes are also going to happen. Some groups are already planning the scripting of Prestige Classes and there will be much changing in each individual world, remember that life will not be made easy...

Only for Infinity Engine scripting. I'll try to pick up NWScript in due time, of course.

Certainly not easy, since waaay more stuff is hardcoded than you'll like. From what I hear, Prestige Classes are going to be a pain to script.
BioWare loves to shout "You Can Script It" in response to questions about stuff not making it into the initial (or any) release, but rest assured that if it
would be practical to script it, it
would have made it into the initial release.

Someone said something about the rule of not being able to get passed level 20 with out a hack or something.
Well if your charactor exceeds the rules the vault will not allow it.
Example...if you get over level 20 some how, the vault will not allow it to save. Just like if you gain a massive amout of experience in the time you have played, the vault will not allow it to save or else will just reset it from last time you logged on.

But for monster AI scrpiting will stiil be needed i think...
Well, i don't think that you can go that far with the toolset, that you can let the attack the mage first for instance.
