how do you play the dungeons & dragons ( im curious)
Sorry this might sound like a stupid question. HOw do you play D&D. Im kind of lost. Thaks for your help
Jeeps - Now that is a BIG question !
Well I can only tell you how I started...... First my Dad got my Mum drunk.... OK perhaps we'll fast forward past that bit
......
What I did was get together with a group of friends who had a similar burning desire to 'role play' - i.e take on the persona of someone completely fanatstical and mythic and explore the facets of that character. To do this we decided to use a rule set rather than be labelled as psychotics - and so we bought three references. 'The Players Guide', 'The Dungeon Masters Guide' and 'The Monster Manual' - all of which were 2nd edition Advanced Dungeons & Dragons.
One of us decided to be the Dungeon Master (i.e. GOD) and went away with his ref. book and the Monster Manual to create a world and populate it for us - the rest of us used the Players Guide to familiarise ourselves with the rules of this new world.
Initially we started by just creating/playing a couple of levels of a dungeon, but as time passed and our imaginations ran rampant, a whole campaign/world setting was fleshed out, that took us from level 1 characters to lords of the realm.
If you want to get started, I'm sure I saw some of these books on E-bay the other day - published by TSR.
Well - that's a starter for 10... now bring on the conferring......
