1. How come half the time I can't close a door even if the enemy is on the other side of the screen?

2. Is there a certain amount of damage or something that you need to do to disrupt a spell?? I hacked a mage twice and he still cast

1.you are probably in the way
2.no, just need to hit them. some mages are immune to this, or use stoneskin.

1.) Is it possible that one of your party members is in the way?

2.) One hit should be enough, usually.

1) I'd like to know as well, so I can script enemies to keep doors open.

2) Some enemies force some of their spells. The more "boss" your opponent is, the more Cheese he usually has at his disposal. This is a lame way to make up for deficient AI...
