A lazy man's guide to power in Arcanum

Well, I know the hard thing is NOT making a uberchar in Arcanum...

The point of this post is how to do a low-maintenance, low mouse-click count, low ammo-lugging char who can still kick arse.

My opinion:

- Go mage. You can also go tech if you forget about firearms and use melee (Pyrotechnic axe) or throwing (Aerial Decapitator); even if you go tech, at least learn Agility of Fire, so you can be a master of melee or throwing without investing in DEX.

- Use throwing weapons. Azram's Star is the best, followed closely by the Aerial Decapitator. It's better than melee because of weapon speed, no damage against doors, automatons or golems, and the range (Azram's has 20 range). Why should you have to WALK (how tiresome!) to kill monsters? Also, what's best: no ammo-lugging.

- Become a master of Repair, even as a mage. I know, waste of CPs because lots of NPCs can repair your stuff, but remember: low mouse-click count. You can repair your Arcane Traveller's Cloak yourself in less clicks than it takes to teleport to Caladon and walk to Maxim.

- Learn Teleport, duh. Even if you go tech, learn Teleport.

- Download Terra-Arcanum's shop inventory hack, so you can get all the equipment you need without playing the "talk to shopkeeper - walk away - rest 1 day" game.

That's all I can remember for now. Any other lazy man's tips?
