What's with the advertising banners saying chat with family and then having a couple women looking at you suductively and exposing skin. Now don't get me wrong, it's not porn, but I'm not an idiot either. It seems they are also playing on guys beings how there no men in the adds. These banners are everwhere!

I would suggest to anybody who does not like banner ads that they consider a program such as WebWasher. This effectively removes most banners and popups. Of course, this also effects pages that rely upon popups for the retrieval of user-requested information, so you have to turn it off at such times.

And it really circumvents the ad-deriving revenues of people who deserve support, like Buck. Up to you. :)

Given the chose between a couple of Banner Ads and paying...I would take the ads.

I try everyday to click the banner ads here at Gamebanshee. I don't have WebWasher, but I do have a program called POW and it kills pop up ads.

(Unrelated to GameBanshee's site)

Given the chose between Pop up Ads and paying...I would paid. I hate pop up ads.

I'm not recommending WebWasher for its use on frequently visited, attractive websites like this one. But there are quite a few websites out there that will hit you with two or three pop-up windows at a time--I've even gone to one that hit me with four in a row everytime I closed the previous window.

Note, too, you can configure WebWasher to allow banners, but to disallow a variety of other things. You can even configure it to allow banners on GameBanshee, and disallow them on websites you're only briefly examining You can allow frames, but disallow shockwave animations. All in all, I've found it a very useful tool--and yes, I *do* click on GB banners. ;)
