anomen's fighter skills are nice and having a level 13 cleric in chapter 2 is nice (4 person parties rock!!) but is it worth getting rid of him for hare'dalis? One thing that i really want to know is if hare'dalis level increases according to the level of your party. if it doesnt i dont really want to have a level 8 bard in an already small party. i dont need extra cleric or mage spels b/c i have jaheria and a pc assassin/mage but i was just wondering whe people prefer

If you have TOB then the enhanced bard song is mint!! (bit o` cheese) if you give him vhailors helm he can have his dupe use the song whilst he gets into the thick of things *or* he can sing his song and they`ll both stack
Anomen is a chicken s*** who runs away all the time...viconia is a miles better cleric

Definately Anomen, he is great with the mace of disruption, is a generally good fighter, (especially against golems) and some of his higher lever cleric spells are awsome. keep him. Haer'Dalis is gererally useless. he cant really do much except sing the songs and i think having an extra fighter cleric like Anomen is better than singing.

keep haer'dalis for a while as well and see how useful he is. He adds a certain dynamic to the group and with the defensive spin and some spell protections he becomes an invulnerable wall. I, personally, am not fond of him but if you run a party devoid of tanks, he makes a great target because of his defensive abilities.

Do what you like, but a bard actually is a pretty bad spellcaster. Once Anomen hit high level, his turn undead is devastating. He is probably a better fighter because he was dualled from fighter. His personal quest also helps. Haer'dalis is a odd character, but like the other guy said, his high level ability can be really good. How about having both in the party?
But if you really have to pick one, I will pick Anomen.

Personally, I think they both blow.
But I would have more use for Anomen. I just don't have the knack for using bards, and I hate sparrows.
Viconia is in my opinion a better cleric than Anomen, and as far as melee goes, if you outfit them right, about any character can hold their own.
If I were running a 4 person party, I would pick up Korgan, Edwin, and Viconia, but then again, that is just personal preference.

They are both good NPCs. Even though I like having Viconia in my party, I hold Sir Anomen as the best of the Clerics. A great character, as to stats as well as to storyline. Why not let him dual wield FoA and DoE?
Haer'Dalis has IMO one great disadvantage - low HPs. That's why you can't really compare him to a Blade of your own creation (who'll also get the HP bonus of a Familiar). Still, the Blade is an excellent kit - it's no wonder so many people have chosen it for solo games. A Blade on Tenser's with all his protection spells up (Stoneskin, Spirit Armor, Blur, Mirror Image etc) is unstoppable!
I don't understand why you can't take them both - there is enough of XPs anyway and the NPCs are IMO what make the game so fun! And it's hard to compare the two since they are very different - it's really up to your preferences. I seldom play with H'D myself but that's only cause I often create a Bard of my own. Anomen seems to make his way into my parties more often than not, though.

In my recent game (8th time) i have both Anomen and HD in my party, HD has a decent AC due to his good dex, and anomens dex sucks

only 10! But on the other hand HD's con sucks (9) and anomens is decent, so they are pretty much both as tough, everyone says that tensers makes HD an unstoppable killing machine, i'm not saying it doesn't, but it does take some time before he can cast 6th lvl spells...(i'm almost there myself),
minor SPOILERish

.
if Anomen is knighted his wis goes to 16 it gives couple extra spells, and he's not too bad as a fighter, and his attitude improves significantly if he's knighted...(just don't let him go and avenge his sisters death)
and with righteous magic anomen becomes more even a better tank, conclusion:
HD: spell levels are sucky, he can't learn much without potions, and his hp's are low, but he gets the spins(off/def) so that improves him in the heat of battle unfortunately not enough, his greates weakness is spells(he'll die in one abi dalzim/fireball/lightning if he doesn't save it)
Anomen: due to his fighter levels, has better thaco, good hp's and dex can be adjusted with the gauntlets of dex to even better, with mace of disruption+2&righteous magic he's an undead killer+otherwise good as a tank, he can cast more prot spells&offensive spells than HD and is pretty much better in everything.

@Locke Da'averan
You forget that there is a Girdle of Fortitude that raises Con to 18 for 8 hours (more than enough - you need to sleep in order to rememorize your spells anyway). This takes, more or less, care of both low HPs and bad saving throws. The girdle is available in the same quest that provides you with the Gauntlets of Dex, so should you compare, do it fairly.

@Astafas excuse me mr perfect

i can't remember every equipment on the game,but the girdle only makes them even, HD would still lose

Here's an idea: why not take both of them and have them fight each other? Outfit them as you would normally and ditch the loser.
