hey guys, there's this one kind of mini-quest that i seem to have gotten stuck on. SPOILER!!









k, i talk to these miners in some wilderness map, i protect them and then go into the excavated ruin. i fight a bunch of them then i decide it would be cool to steal that idol there. But when i take there is a crazy guy who tries to kill me cuz i took. but he does more than try, he always kills me. any strategies on this battle? should i give the idol back? I'm only level 3 right now by the way.

Whoa, level 3? I was level 6 or 7 when I tried it. First thing, gain some levels. Once you've done that, if you have a priest, cast the glyph of warding and any other trap-like spells and summon some guys to help just as you get out of the cave.

so that means put the idol back and come get it later? can i get back in the cave later? is this even a possibility?

Yes. That's what I did.

Level 3 is a bit too low to handle this guy.

*Cheese Alert*: Cast Dispel Magic in his direction (without letting him see you) - this gets rid of his blur effect and weapon. Next, cast web in his direction, and pummel him with enchanted arrows until he's dead. He usually gets stuck in the web long enough to get seriously damaged before he reaches your party.

ok guys, i decided i would do better with a more peaceful resolution to this altercation (mostly because my party really sucks and that guy could not be beat). My solution was to take the idol and bravely charge for the edge of the map avoiding all fights whatsoever. By the time i reached the edge in addition to the crazy guy following me there was a pack of wolves and a group of talsoi. Dynaheir was the only hurt and she only recieved minor injuries.

What is the use of the idol you get in the cave? I just left it there in my game because it usually seems when they say something is bad to do, it is actually bad to do.

If you are going to steal the idol, there is no point to the exercise if you don't fight the doomsayer for the xp...... The idol does not sell for very much.......

Any arrows that can make secondary damage(piersing,fire,cold etc) can hit this guy. with a couple of potions of speed and a little patience he can be killed even when you character are low level. Just keep the rest of the party away from him and use your character with the best THACO to bring him down.

well i took it not to sell, but to make the cursed sword, so what if it's cursed, i'll just sell it.
