I imported my character Mage from BG1. I have the patch installed. At one point in the game I noticed that my main character Wild Mage lev 12 doesn't use any weapons located in quick weapons slots.
He can cast spells or use wands even automatically using script. When it comes to weapons (currently sling and quarterstuff) he can't attack with them.
When I click on them and aim manually at the enemy, my mage just stands there doing nothing although the message appears that Sir Losealot attacks such an such enemy.
This problem was not there in the beginning. It just appeared one day. I thought it was just a wrong script so I kept playing and was just testing different scripts. That's why I don't have any saves from before this problem had appeared.
Any suggestions how to solve this problem would be very welcomed.
My Mage won't use any weapons even if selected manually.

Try creating a mage character in BG2; don't import one from a previous BG game. If that still doesn't work, create a character in a different class. If you are still having this problem, uninstall and re-install BG2. If it persists after that, you may have gotten a corrupt copy of the game, so take it back to the retailer you bought it from and exchange it.
If any of the other characters you create are able to use weapons in the quick slots, then it probably isn't a game issue; you might have a corrupt .CHR file from the BG1 import.

Jesus saves! And takes half damage!
If brute force doesn't work, you're not using enough.

Maybe he's blind or has some badly-counted magical weapon equipped (dunno, like if your MMM are over but the game hasn't counted it right... probably not)
Try casting Dispel Magic (preferably by an inquisitor) on our main character, and check your savegame in Shadow Keeper to see if there's something wrong with your char
Also, check if magically created weapons, such as MMM or any blades (such as black blade, etc), or even Energy blades can be used to attack
Also, try using the "guard" exploit (do some searches in the foruns, in both SoA or ToB, obviously)

Being an Evil Overlord seems to be a good career choice. It pays well, there are all sorts of perks and you can set your own hours. However every Evil Overlord I've read about in books or seen in movies invariably gets overthrown and destroyed in the end. I've noticed that no matter whether they are barbarian lords, deranged wizards, mad scientists or alien invaders, they always seem to make the same basic mistakes every single time. Therefore, if I ever happen to become an Evil Overlord, ...

As I have stated previously, my main character was working fine for the most part of the game. Just to check it again I created new game and imported the same character again. No problem at all. He can use weapons in quick weapons slots.
There is also no problem with freshly made character in new game. Everything works fine.
So the problem appears to be not game related but perhaps corrupted save or something. My mage can't use any magical weapons like MMM, too. Any weapon which appears on the main screen in quick weapon slots, be it magical or not is unusable by my mage.
I've casted dispel magic but it didn't solve the problem. It only removes the MMM icons from the quick weapon slots if previously I casted MMM.
Shodowkeeper doesn't show any abnormal things in my character stats. Guard exploit doesn't work with mage simply because mage doesn't have guard icon.
Any other ideas?

I've opened my character (Sir Losealot) in Shadowkeeper. I deleted everything under the Affects tab and suddenly my mage can use the weapons again.
It's hardly a proper solution because I deleted things which served some purpose. But it seems like it's a pointer in the right direction.
I just don't know how important are things under "Affects" tab.

I started to delete affects one by one then save and reload the game. It looks like the 2nd from the top affect is guilty of crime.
It goes like that:
Proficiencies - 0x00B1
Param 1 - 0
Param 2 - 2
Resource 0 - PLYRATE
Resource 3 - SPWM183
Time - 58876832
Flags - 0x00001000
Target - 0x0002
All the other entries like "Name" etc. are empty.
Anybody knows what is it and how bad for the game, it would be to delete it?

It has been solved with the help of some good people
Solution:
1. Enable debug mode
2. CTRL-R your character
That's it. The problem was with some old spells affects (probably polymorhping - that's why my char. couldn't use sloted weapons) which were not cleared as they should be. The above method removes the unwanted things.
