WHEN does he exactly leave your party, I want to make sure that bastard is stripped, and i mean Stripped, there's no way in hell I'm letting that backstabbin ***** make off with some of the best **** I've found and not including what he's wearing either!

Clean Yoshimo out right before you enter Spellhold, either at the front gate or right before you talk to Desharik about having you declared mentally incompetent. There shouldn't be any more combat after either point.

Yoshimoto?
Oh, gotcha, YOSHIMO. He'd be very angry at that...
Don't worry about him taking your gear, you kill him just after you fight Irenicus in Spellhold, so you'll get it all back.

Actually since Imoen is stripped..
She Needs Yoshi's Gear, he was just to be a replacement till she was back, She's more useful anyways, a Mage with Theif abilities!
Plus why even give Yoshi the SLIGHTEST chance to fight me, I say that he dies quick and easy.. well he's gonna be quick and easy anways, but that's beside the point.. actually it isn't.. uhm ya.
Additionally, You know the whole Slayer thing ya? I went threw this already with my Solo Sorc, and well, I had no problems going Slayer since I had no friendlies to dispatch, and since she was evil, no rep to lose. Now With my Pally, I must ask. Is this going to be a problem with a full party? and How much distance is gonna be enough?

IMO, being a Paladin in the BG world pretty much already says that.

Why don't you try to dual him into another class?

Just a caution. If you strip Yoshi of everything, he still will have his Katana and a Leather Armor to use when he attacks you. Therefore, you can't neuter him before combat and leave him defenseless. You'll just have to fight like every other assassin.

if you dual him, he will be a lowly level 1 and his thac0 will suck as well as his abilities, ie no hide-in-shadows.

How to prepare Yoshimo for slaughter.
There are a lot of ways to render Yoshimo harmless. Obviously dump him as soon as you get out of Irenicus' dungeon, so as not to waste valuable XP on him. Dual-class him to a fighter just before entering the Asylum, and don't put any proficiencies in katana or dual-wielding. Equip his katana in his off-hand, though he will get given another one for his main hand, he'll still recieve THAC0 penalties for dual-wielding without any points in 2-weapon style(and you get two katanas+1, which you can then sell for a tidy profit). Give him all the cursed items you can find, eg. Ring of Folly, Bracers of Fumbling, etc.
I prepared Yoshi in exactly this way, and Aerie, completely unbuffed, killed hm in one-on-one melee combat using the Staff of the Magi.

Hmm
Ok Mixed goals here, Killing him won't be a problem, keeping him alive in my game has been. Even with the full gear I gave him he wouldn't stand a chance against my Pally.
If he goes to backstab I cast Truesight and pound him, simple done deal. But you individuals intend to cripple him! and for that. I laugh.
Talk about beating a dead horse

Except for the first time I played through BG2 (when Yoshimo was an unseen clever plot twist), I have always dumped Yoshimo after leaving Irenicus's dungeon (more XP for the rest of them). There are other thieves in the game (Jan, Nalia, Adario) who can cover for his theiving abilities. When I am ready to go to Spellhold, I go back to the Copper Coronet and pick him up to do the Mae'Var Guildhouse quests and then we do the Chapter 3 quests.
This way, when I get to Spellhold, there is a built-in spot for Imoen (Yoshimo's primary purpose is to be a placeholder for Imoen anyway) and I still get to the Yoshimo's heart quest for more XP.

Why do Meavar's quest with Yoshimo, you can do it without him to!?

I've never tried to do it without him. I always thought the hook for that quest was when you go the Docks with Yoshimo, he says that he has to see Renal Bloodscalp and that was the trigger for the quest. If you don't need Yoshimo to do the Mae'Var quest, then I'd keep someone else (Nalia, Jan) in his place until the last minute and it was time to go to Spellhold.

Just pass by the building, and someone will tell you that they have a job for you.
