XP cap

It seems weird since I'm only in Cloakwood, but I think Imay have readched the XP cap. I'm a lvl 8 Half-Elf Bard with 89,000 XP. I just killed the Wyverns and realized I'd stopped gaining XP. Am I at the cap or did something else happen?

Guessing based on your level, as I'm too lazy right now to get out the manual, I'd say it's a pretty safe bet that you reached the xp cap.

Yea the cap is 89,000 I checked it out somewhere. But I'm only in chapter 4 and there's plenty more to go. It just seems like the cap should be a little bit higher. Maybe next time I'll do it with a Fighter/Mage/Thief so it takes a while before I reach the cap. Thanks though.

Are you soloing? If that's the case, then it explains why you hit the xp cap so soon. I played all the way through with a 6 person party(my PC and 5 NPCs) and never did reach the xp cap(before or after I installed TotSC) and I even did every quest I could.
With the multiclass, IIRC, since the xp you get is divided among the three classes but it is still the same char, I think you hit hte xp cap when your total xp(adding all three classes together) gets to 89,000. So, if I'm right, that'd be aout 29,666 in each class. I'm not positive this is how it works, but I remember it working this way in IWD, so I'm pretty sure it also works this way in BG1.

That sucks... I'd think since the XP is divided that you'd get 89,000 for each of the 3 classes.

TeamBG offers some nice tools, you can find XP remover there along with the rules up to level 50 for leveling up, so that you keep leveling up normally.
