Hi there!

I have had Sarevok joining my party and I wanted to give him back his Sword of Chaos. After that the sword is supposed to be a better one, but...
...when I give it to him a blank dialogue box appears, no real dialogue whatsoever, and the next moment, when I check the sword in the inventory screen, it's also blank.
What's wrong? Is there anyone out there who could kindly help me avoiding a nernous break down?
Many thanks!
Cheers

I can do that, but then should I have to start ToB all over again? I don't know if I could bear it...

I assume you have the english version right?
I think I know what happened.
The Ascension zip file should place every item in the right place,
almost all files in the override directory and the dialog file in the main one.
So the readme states.
In my case, extracting to the main directory, ALL files including
dialog.tlk went to the override folder.
(My winzip is correctly set to track subdirectories, so it's not my fault)
Here the dialog file has no effect.
You should move it and overwrite the old dialog file.
In my case it was even worse, I have the italian version, and so two different dialog files for male or female PCs.
I've found no other way to play correctly Ascension than remove
the female file, and thus turning my game to a FULL english version.
Hope this helps.
(no one helped me with this one, so I understand you!)
Oh, you shouldn't need to play again.

Damn you, Littiz! You were correct!
I'll fight the next battles in your name!
P.S. On the other hand, Sarevok now stopped his little dialogues tempting me to change him. I'm wondering whether there has been some bad luck casted on me!

@ Nippy:
I know it's worth-playing it; I have gone through it already, and now I'm trying Ascension mod second time --first time wasn't meant to end it...

Sarevok makes me worry too much...

I think they just made a mistake while zipping the files...
Anyway, about Sarevok's dialogs, don't worry, Ascension should
force them before it's too late.
I had one, reloaded, and got it back only days later!
If you want to win battles in my name, I warn you, you have
to be Neutral-SuperGood!!!!!!!!!!
