Blades ID

Couple of points not clear to me...

Is every member of (what is to be) the (new) Blades of the Banshee a descendant of the original Blades?

And...

How will we identify each other in-game? I've seen the concept of pendants or somesuch jewelry bandied about a few times. Jewelry gets lost, stolen, sold... I find it hard to believe that, after a several generations, a significant number of descendants still has this thing on them. Could we not go with tattoos? (You may ask yourself: "Where do those babies get tatooed?". Well... could it be magic?)

You don't have to be a descendent, your character just has to have known one of the originals somehow, i.e. was apprenticed by one, one of them was a village elder, ect.

As for identification, tatoos sounds good to me. Or maybe branding. Or cuts. Or some other mutilation of our bodies.

Well, I wouldn't even go so far as to say you have to know an original member. Take Rail for example. His character, Matti, is merely a close friend to another paladin, Nippy's Connavar, who is related to an original banshee.

My thoughts as to Identification: I know that Saigo included in his post on the story thread a magic stone, located at the original guild site, with the names of the banshee's, or banshee descendents (i'm not clear which). There had also been a bit of talk on implementing this, but the argument was that it wouldn't allow new members to join.

Well, if the stone is "magic" couldn't it work that anytime someone ties themselves to the blades, whether through descent or support of the cause, their name is magically scribed on the stone.

This would make sense as far as the demons hunting the blades. They seek to totally wipe the blades from the face of argyle, and this stone would give them a list of known names to hunt. Plus, when and if the blades built there guild around the stone, it would provide them with names, so that they might search out those who wish to be a member

Of course, it would have to be made selective, so that a 11 year old boy in Arberdan can't just daydream about being a blade and thus have his name magically inscribed on the stone.

Does anyone get what I'm saying? Just some thoughts for you's guys

Ok i am planning of being the grandson of one of the originals.
It doesn't matter how what you guys decide how we meet each other.
I will be ok with anything.

Now the difference between new and original for Demis:

The sticky on the top with the story of the Blades shows that they existed before, but then lost and were scattered. The originals are the descendents of these "first" blades, that is why they are originals.

However new blades are those who join the blades but don't want to be linked with the guild of the past. Like Matti - AJ's character - is not a descendent. So he his character will be a "new" blade.
Hope that helps.

Blades ID?

I sort of based my lineage around an ancestor who studied and trained with the original blades. Being a bit curious I arrive at Argyle to see what all the fuss was about. I'll eventually take it a step further of course and join should we survive long enough to establish a guild. :D

As for encounters, I'll be using the name Tamerlane and would prefer random encounters over anything pre-planned.

@CM--You got everything right except that Matti is RAIL'S character. Not mine. Saien McGerney will be my namesake in Argyle.
