I come from Waterdeep. Born and raised there. On my eighteenth birthday, I was to travel with a caravan to Baldurs Gate to see my uncle Trevor. It got assaulted, I was sole survivor, I had hided under an Amnish rug. I continued on to Baldurs Gate alone, where I met my uncle Trevor, an inventor. I lived in Baldurs Gate for a few years, where uncle Trevor sent me as apprentice in Sorcerous Sundries. There I learnt the fine art of Illusionism, which I combined with some inventing skills that I learnt from my uncle Trevor. I soon became able to craft my own items, and soon I left Baldurs Gate for travelling around the Sword Coast. I came to Beregost, where I attended a blacksmithing course at Taerom Fuiruim's Thunder Hammer Smithy. Soon I moved on, exploring what was left of the Sword Coast. I ventured to Candlekeep, but I wasn't allowed to enter, because I had no book. I did not understand, so I broke into it by night. None noticed me coming, so I rested at the Candlekeep Inn, and the next morning I walked to the Central Keep. I was handed a robe by a tutor there, he told me to 'dress properly'. I took the robe on, it was yellow, as the students robes are. After some days, they noticed that I was an 'outsider', and I was thrown in jail. However, I was let out again some weeks later, and banished from Candlekeep. I travelled back home to Waterdeep, where I started a small magic shop, Ye Enchanted Shoppe. It became welll-known, and many wanted to be my apprentices. At last, as a rich man, I extended the shop, adding a larger building, a school. I hired teachers and everything, until that cursed day were it all burned down after being struck with a lightning. All of my works disappeared, even my money. I write this at the end of my days, living as a beggar on the streets of Waterdeep. I hope someone will find this scroll and make it known, for I am for a long time ago forgotten...
Just posting my sig, Im going to change it.

Perhaps I should introduce myself, too (sorry Gnu, i'm not trying to steal the show. it's your thread - I'm just borrowing it, OK?)
I've registered to this forum some time ago but haven't really been active in a) posting or b) even visiting the site. That's because I forgot the BG games for awhile and played something else (for example Deus Ex, Hitman, Max Payne, Operation Flahspoint, Arcanum, RTCW and Day of Defeat). But now I've seen the light again and started a new game of BG and I intend to continue with BG2 once I'm finished.
I've been playing BG right from the start, and i've finished it many times. Usually I've played with one tank, archers Kivan and Coran, a healer (usually Jaheira, already warming her up for the romance

) and my own character, a multi or dual fighter-thief character, who backstabs and pickpockets/opens locks.
But now I'm now semi-soloing (?!?!) with Chaotic good fighter-thief-mage and 1-2 NPC's in my party. Let's see how it goes.

Good Luck, I found BG1 much much harder to solo then BG2.
I'm currently in a multiplayer game of BG1 with a friend.
I'm F/T he's F/M.
Whe already made it to the city itself, so you should be able to get that far!

Hopefully so.
F/T and F/M sound interesting. I haven't tried MP in BG, how's that going?
Since I'm multiclass with 3 classes the level ups cost pretty much xp's, I've been thinking of really soloing. That way I could get more xp's to myself and level up faster. Problem is: I have dagger of venom and good stealth, so I can kill most of enemies who are alone, but when 2nd or more enemies come, I'm in trouble. Thus I'm having one tank with me to handle those situations... But once i get more mage abilities i can summon monsters and throw fireballs at those enemy hordes. Then I can ditch Ajantis.
BTW what happens when I move to BG2 with my F/T/M. Can I choose Fighter kits (I'm thinkin of kendai here)?

It'sa little odd at first.
I'm playinf the f/t and I'm the host.
That makes me the son of Gorion (and all things that come with it)
I appear with the green circle under my feet, and my partner in purple.
For him that otherwise (i'm purple he's green)
You can only command you're own character(s) and as host, you can decide what you're partner is allowed to do (talk/buy/exitmap etc.)
The most annoying hting is, that I can get things from the other players inventory, but can't sell directly out of his inventory, and cause I have 16charisma all the selling is done by me.
And it's a little harder to keep together when ambushed.
Any other questions?

Woot! Woot! **** Spoiler ahead ****

So you are the son of Murder (that obviously can be a spoiler to someone, still) and your friend is... just nobody?!? What's the motive for him/her to put his ass on the line?!?!
Do you have common gold or do all the characters have their own gold?

Yes that's a spoiler, please edit you're post and remove it.
In his bio it sais whe where best friends, and he'll follow me any where etc. etc.
The game is just like a single player game, common gold (and he isn't allowed to buy anything (robe of ....magi or shadowarmour mmmmmm what will whe pick

)
But like I said just a single player game with 2 NPC's, and now 1person controls the main character and the other the NPC. (you can add more characters in the game, but whe did it with only 2)

Done.
OK, your friend being a friend

- that is functional solution, yet a bit lame-ish and lacks creativity...
BTW about shadowarmour vs. robe of archimage - I bought them both for myself!!
