What did I miss?

I am currently at the point in the game where I have just finished infiltrating the Iron Throne and must return to Duke Eltan to be shipped off to Candlekeep. He keeps telling me I have work to do. I have been into the Iron Throne HQ 3 times hoping to find something I've missed. I have found all scrolls/letters that I require and I have received all pertinent information from every person I've spoken to. The only thing I can think of is that I missed something important earlier in the game.

There is also a glitch in my game. Upon entering the Iron Throne HQ, the video that is supposed to play only once plays over and over again while I'm on the first floor. My group only gets to walk a few feet before the video starts playing again. I have to pause instantly and point my group to where I want them to go then just let it run. Eventually, they make it up the stairs (after I've watched the video 30 or 40 times!) and the game returns to normal. When I come back down to the first floor to leave, the looped video returns.

Any ideas will be greatly appreciated!

Yes, it does suck. Especially after going through so much of the game (I have ToSC as well) just to be stopped dead by Duke Eltan! What's his problem? lol

yes, that truly sucks. I'm sorry for you.

But did i get this right: every time you go to Iron Throne building you get the 30-40 video replays before getting to stairs (and the same thing when exiting the building)? And you've done that for 3 times already?!?!

You are one persistent SOB. And don't get me wrong, thats a good thing!

I couldn't help myself since this was the only glitch I found in the game. I just turned the volume down and walked away during the video sessions so I wouldn't go insane! lol

I assume you have tried all sort of patches???
I remember I had the same thing a long time ago, only with the movie you get as soon as you enter the final battle.

I never solved it, I used a savegame of a friend to finish the game!

One thing you could try is run scandisk and empty your BG cache. Delete files from the folder %Baldur's Gate Install Directory%\Cache\Data\

Or you could disable the movie, since you will not lose anything regarding plot advancement. I will check up how this is done, it has been a while since I had to help my sister with the same problem :) It works, btw...
