Well, today, I have been rejected, insulted, shot down, criticized, accused of being spoiled, and been caught walking home in freezing rain. to top it all off, I got extremly frustrated, and put a hole through the wall, and now have bloody knuckles. I've had a wonderful day. how have yours been?

Just fine, a nice glorious windy cold day, with many interesting conversations, actually today was a pretty fine day.

Well look at it this way, at least the day is over, and not to sound cliched but tomorrow is a brand new day, so maybe try and get to bed and pretend this day never happened.

Ahh Aegis, everones got them.
I can beat you easily though. Though it involves many thoughts and experiences I have fought down. Down bad thoughts! Down!

Suffice it to say, I beat the pulp out of a telephone poll bare handed, and had sliver in my fists for weeks. The people at the medi clinic couldnt get them out :(

I'm not going to tell you too look forward to another day, because, well, you had a good day. Crap days like that will make the good things seem better, and punching a hole through a wall is great accomplishment and a good stress reliever. Drywall I presume?

Hard wood. Sprained every bone in my right hand, and cut up the knuckles bad. Suffice it to say, I'm typing with my left hand, writing with my left, and eating with my left hand. It's not fun.

*glances down the hall at the hole(though it's been repaired) she put in the plaster wall with her foot* Eheheh, I know how you feel, though luckily today has been a relatively good one.

I strongly recommend using pillows when you hit the wall. Even if you manage to put a hole in the wall, you're less likely to hurt your hand. I've tried it. It works. :)

Sorry to hear it, @Aegis. Have you got anybody in your neck of the woods whom you can turn to for a little sympathy?

What you really need is....

A punching bag.

I got one after a friend recommended one for me, and now I recommend one for you.

Trust me it's worth it. Especially during those last years of schooling, where the pressure just keeps on piling.

I haven't been able to get a punching bag, but I do agree with Tamerlane that you should get one.

Ask to see her. I know one of the greatest pleasures I took in my relationships over time was being there when my SO needed a shoulder to lean on. It made me feel needed and useful. If she's any kind of a friend at all, she'll be happy to oblige.

when it rains it pours...
when things go that bad, you really just have to grin and laugh about the absurdity of so much crap happening to you in one day.
just kick back and enjoy the fact that you get to experience life. embrace what happens to you...good or bad.

Hey man, chin up. I've done the same except I punched through a hardwood door. A punchbag is a good idea. Remember, lifes a ***** and then you die. Just make sure you have fun in the inbetween! :D :D

I find it slightly confusing why anyone would inflict pain upon themselves by punching a wall, quite a few people i know (all men ;) ) have done the same thing in the past and i still dont understand it.

I don't either... My parents had to buy my brother a new bedroom door a few years ago when he kicked a hole in it. And last year he broke his hand punching a wall. I mean, I do feel like punching something occasionally, but I usually decide I'd rather punch something that isn't going to hurt me more than I hurt it :D

@Aegis Sorry to hear about your day, hope today is better ;)

Thats why I have a punching bag. ;)

Plus the fact that I don't enjoy pain. Then again no else does.

I don't do it myself, but I sure understand that aggression and frustration must come out somewhere, and it's better to take it out on non living things. It's not so good to hurt oneself though, so a punch bag is a good idea.

I know a few people who hit or throw things, some male, some female.

I'm sorry to hear your day yesterday was horrible, hope you are better today. You should let a doc look at your hand though.

That doesn't bode well. I've broken my hand (twice! Who says you learn from mistakes?) in "fisticuffs with dead matter". When I got to the hospital they told me that the only way to break your hand in that particular fashion is by striking someone/thing. If you're swollen just above your pinky, you might have broken a bone.

Btw, both the wall and the door won - not a scratch and me in a cast for a month :o :( One of these days I'm getting a punch bag.
