Simple question: how can you do this? I didn't find it in the f.a.q. list and a search on "link AND thread" turned up too many threads that didn't treat this topic.

You mean like this?
like to a site

If so, just use the http:// button in the post screen. First type the text (like: click here), enter, and the the site.

Sorry, Rob-hin, but no, I noticed some people have links to actual threads from GameBanshee in their posts (e.g. Ned's first post on "One millionth post party" in SYM). Can you tell me how to get those kinds of links in your post? Thanks for the info on sites anyway. I can always PM Ned, but I thought other members might want to know about this too, so I posted it in a thread.

The small text

Ned:
According to Demis, collectively, we've hit a milestone. According to Demis, collectively, we've hit a milestone. He pointed out in this thread that I posted post 1,000,000 of the SYM forum. This is certainly a cause to celebrate as literally, I could not have done it without you. Maybe I don't need my SPAM-MAN pants after all to hit 2800 posts in a week. Perhaps it is going to my head.

Anyway, 1,000,000 posts collectively is pretty cool, almost incomprehensible. As BS is happy to point out, LET'S PARTY. Of course, everyone is welcome.
-----------

"thread" > a link to "A cunning plan"

This? It's the same as what I've told you, it's just a link to another gamebanshee url.

OR...
Do you mean the small white text above the post? That can be entered in the post screen as the post object.

Thats all I can find in Ned's post so if thats not what you mean then I've got no idea what your talking about...

Thanks, Rob-hin. That was what I was talking about. I'm running the GameBanshee site in another program, so I can't actually see the URLs of the threads, just the URL I launch from (http://www.gamebanshee.com). I'll try launching the site in Internet Explorer and try and work it out that way. :)

I just want to add this link concerning vB Code to this thread
vB Code help. Rob-hin helped me out with getting a thread in a post and in the VB Code help I found all the rest there is to know about adding URLs (e.g. giving a link a proper name etc.)
