What improvements would you like to see in any future game?

Hi all,
I've been reading these pages for a while now and the same questions get repeated so I thought about asking something different....
What annoyed you about Baldur' s Gate 2 ? Was there anything or was this game perfect without a single blemish? and ...
What improvements would you like made to this game and what would you like to see in the new game neverwinter nights coming out near end of year ?

- You can hide in shadows in front of a neutral (cyan circle) character. You should not, in my opinion.
- Backstabbing with staves and clubs. This should definitely be off. Backstab should be limited to piercing weapons a thief can use, even if it means no Longswords or Katanas.
- More support for evil course of action (at least comparable xp gain)
- Increased walk speed for all characters. I know it´s been greatly increased from BG1, but it is still a pain to walk the whole screen.
- The game should be boring. If it is as cool as BG, I will have more sleepless nights, and it´s not good for my health.
"Altough the character doesn´t need to eat, remember that YOU do. We don´t want to lose any dedicated players". I felt so bad that after installing ToB this line didn´t appear anymore...

I would like to see some wilderness areas put in - I missed the "open feel" of BG1.

Shoplifting is problematic: it either works, and you can get anything, even the best stuff, at an early stage with master thieving potions (which you can shoplift, of course), or it doesn't work, you're attacked and lose two reputation points--in which case, everybody reloads.
I think the rewards should be much slimmer for newbie pickpocketers, and potions of master thievery should be removed from any future game. The penalties should be limited, too: maybe a fine that's greater than the item you tried to grab, and a lock in at the savegame level that ensured your party would still have that fine even if you went back to your last saved game.

@Fable
I agree that the rewards should be slimmer for newbies.
But I don't know if you could remove the potions of master thievery from the game. For example, if you chose Nalia to be your thief you need those potions because her thief stats aren't that great.

I simply want more NPC interaction and NPC related quests, perhaps more NPC choices. I love the voices and the portraits..just helps with the feel of the game.
Not truly related, but I've thought it would be nice to have GameBanshee friends in the games, you know...Bloodstalker would have a tavern, Fable would be a wise mage in a tower. I think that would be fun.

For me , the biggest thing was firstly, how dumb my npcs were ...I tell them to move to one place and some of them would decide to take a more scenic route to get there. Unfortunately , for them , that route just happened to have a big bad guy there and that was the end of my npc.
I didn't like micromanaging every single member of the team all of the time.

the ability for your pc to join organisations such as the harpers etc. and the direct influence of those decisions on available npcs and the reactions of other people.

I agree with Viven; more NPC interaction and NPC related quests. And perhaps a more non-linear story line.

Like in Planescape: Torment, the ability to initiate dialogs with the NPCs in your party and probe their backgrounds with both good and bad results such as increasing their stats/abilities, changing alignments, going hostile and trying to kill you...

ranger101's question below reminded me of another grievance. Why shouldn't you be able to switch between dual-wielding and bow without going to inventory? Realistically, is it harder to whip out two short swords than to haul out some huge two-handed sword?

Id like to see random drops off the boss mobs (so you cant always count on the same item). Dungeons that respawn after a certian time, with a wide range of what monsters will spawn in , and what items they drop , with there being common items , and rare items off rare spawns. I feel this would add nearly endless playability to the game, as it is now , you clear a dungeon once and your totally done there.

Like Diablo 2 style?
My biggest gripes:
-quests that require you to change CDs multiple times (like ones that you have to go to the Temple District, then the Docks, then back to the Temple District...)
-the Irenicus Dungeon. every time I try a new character...

Another gripe to add :
Switching from melee weapons to ranged ones on a team wide basis was a pain . Having to go through each person's inventory was laborious and frustrating ( at least for me !). An improvement perhaps ? to have one button which when pressed enabled all ( or specified only ) members to change from melee to range weapons and vice versa immediately.

damn good game
Alright!
This game is one of the best i've played so far (and yes, it have been some).
First thing I would change: Interaction with "normal" people. Best example (slight spoiler):
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
In Athkatla you need a license to cast spells in the streets. But you can stand right in front of the mage that sells the license and cast whatever spell you want without him doing ANYthing. Kinda stupid...
I also support (as an archer in game) the possibility to change from long to short distance weapons for the whole party with one button. Would make it MUCH easier sometimes.
Improve NPC KI (as said above) [remember me in some way of the harvest things in command and conquer... always took the route through the enemy base... well, 'tis another topic] and increase interaction with more people in the world. Then it would even get better.
One last: maybe one could implement some more of this romance things. For example: you could start frindships too within your party that would affect the story line or something like that.
But still: A damn good game
Keep it going

@Gaxx
Not like diablo2, more like Everquest. In everquest there is a respawn time after you kill a monster , either the same monster can spawn in that spot next time , or it could be a rare monster . The rare monster can have a variety of diff items it can drop, so it might take a while for you to get the item you want , meanwhile other area's of the dungeon are respawning , so you have to kinda fight your way in and back out again.

We were asked what we wanted changed. That's what I'd like changed, and how I'd wanted it done. You may prefer differently, but that's your choice. For myself, I'd rather those potions be completely gone. And if that meant Nalia couldn't pickpocket, too bad.

@ Fable, didn't mean to offend. I shall moderate my comments in the future.

No offense taken. I simply forgot to put a smile emoticon at the end of my remarks.

I would also like to see more outdoor areas to explore.
An improvement I would like to see would be a rotatable game area. There are some doors of buildings which cannot be seen and you only realise there is a door when you move your mouse over it. Also sometimes when you want to pick up an item behind a door, your cursor will not be able to select it as the door is in the way.
