Well I just can't figure out how to kill those stone nuisances.. they are immune to all damage (slashing, piercing, crushing...) and magic (even lower resistance doesn't work) and their magic missiles are very annoying.. Does anyone have a nice strat as far as killing them goes? Thanks in advance!

Ah, yes, there's a reason why these things are called Stone Nuisances! They're a royal pain, and a prime example of the game "cheating". They have 100% resistance to everything except piercing weapons - so must be taken down with daggers, short swords, spears, and the like. Missile weapons won't work - they're 100% resistant to those. Lower Resistance may work well enough to allow spells that do magic damage, like Magic Missile and Skull Trap, hurt them.

IIRC, you can have your thief hide and backstab them, and kill them before taking too much damage. You could try having your bard/mage cast Shield and distract the Stone Nuisance while other party members flank it and take it down.

***SPOILERS***

Yep, nasty ickle things. It took me a while to figure this one out.

Heavy duty area spells like acid/corrosive fog work - especially if you cast lower MR first. Shield is a life saver if used on a decoy - but you've the rest of the beasties to deal with at the same time.

You could always lure the main horde into battle before making a final dash to the item containers. IIRC there is only one small cavern where you have to face the nuisances - leave it till last! They're not worth it for the meagre points anyway.

Piercing weapons Sojourner? Its been a while but I recall using blunt weapons - maces, hammers etc. - to crush these guys??

It's been a while for me, too. :) Yea, you're right, you need crushing weapons. For some reason, IE shows them as being resistant to all but piercing weapons?!  Hmm...

Personally I had only 1 weapon that had any effect on them. The 5+ Mace Fist of Gloomfrost.
I havn't tried with piercing damage though.

BUT!!! Lance of Disruption can take them out!!!
The insane amount of crushing damage will have a pretty good result.
But since they give only pathetic exp and no loot I just put boots of speed on my mage who had ring of shielding(The spell shield will work as well). Then I rushed in, grabbed the gem and rushed out again.
