Edwin's Nether Scroll Problem

I got the Nether scroll in the graveyard district on about the 4th or 5th day (was that the EASIEST Lich or what?) and I am now on about day 18 or so and so far nothing has happened to Edwin. I have not kicked him out of my party and re acquired him or anything. I read about this quest and supposedly he was supposed to have turned into a woman after about 5 days. Nothing has happed and it has been 13-14 days. Did I do something wrong? Other than doing the D'arnise Keep quest I have pretty much been around Athkatla. I REALLY don't want to re-start my game for such a small quest, but since Edwin is the only mage in my party I want him to have as many advantages as possible for all those high mage encounters later in the game. Please help!!!!

I'm not sure what triggers the transformation (some of the script experts like Sabre or Sojourner surely do), but I've been waiting a long time too. If I remember right, Edwin twice told the group of the advance of his work, the second time the transformation happened.

Choosing the wrong dialog option during Edwin's commentary immediately after obtaining the Nether Scroll can cause the quest to permanently stall.

For those without Tob installed, Kevin Dorner has a patch at Baldurdash to fix this.

For those with ToB, get your patch here.

The patch is called Edwin's Nether Scroll Quest Fixes.

Sorry, the only way I know of to fix this is through the console - there are flags associated with local variables that I'd rather let the game itself handle. Anyway, to fix this maually:

Make sure that your party is not located in a dungeon area and not in Chapters 4, 5, or 7.

Holding your cursor over Edwin, enter the following at the console:

CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("ScrollStudy","LOCALS",1)

Next, enter the following at the console:

CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("EdwinScroll","GLOBAL",1)

This will force his quest timer to immediately expire, and you should get the following dialog:

"Ahh HA! I understand it! Sorry to bother your petty concerns, but I have translated some of the Nether Scroll!"

A day from the above dialog, Edwin should go through his transformation. Hope this helps!
