No Sheemish, no villagers

Have gone thru "Dragon's Eye" level 2 and killed all the monsters in this area. Gone over it several times to make sure. I still have not been able to locate The Son of The Blacksmith, Sheemish. I have found no villagers either. I encountered this problem in level one too. Where I was supposed to "free the captives" after killing the Lizard King. No captives, no 30,000 experience points either!
I even restarted the game thinking 30,000 XP was too many to pass up. I killed the Lizard King and his munions without resting and went to find the captives but there were none. Continued the game and am now in Level 2 and have the same problem...no villagers or Sheemish.
Any help would be much appreciated!
