Does the robe of Vecna and the Amulet of Power increase the spellcasting speed of a Sorcerer?

Yes both items improve casting speed. Robe of vecna by 4 and amulet of power by 1, but this is stated in the statistics of the items so i wonder why you ask? Do you mean if you can use them both you'll get both bonuses (improved by 5 casting time)?

I've experienced the same problem with my sorc. I have robe of veccna and amulet of power, but every d*** village-wizard beats me in casting.
I always get my spells out last..

- with the only exception of Magic Missile - that one's a "speedy"...

Well I wonder does it have a point using that equipment which only "improves your spellcasting" in the equipment description???

is it only me that thinks the descriptions are silly:

robe of vecna:
increase spellcasting speed by 4

amulet of power:
decrease spellcasting speed by 1

according to the descriptions, the ring would then be bad for spellcasters...
