Help!!! Blasted Adamantine Golem...

Alright... I've had enough. Can somebody pls give me a "recommended" character level and weapons for defeating the Adamantine Golem (as well as Firkhragg) in the Winspear Hills quest?
Because obviously my level 10-13 fighters and Clerics aren't cutting it. I've tried equipping everyone with +3 weapons
-Staff of Rhyn
-Flail of Ages
-Frostreaver Battle Axe +3
All of these get me 1-3 damage per hit. - at the 30-40 damage per shot that blasted golem does, I'm never going to kill him at this rate.
So... any suggestions? Thanks.

Welcome to GB !
Try getting the colem stuck in the doorway....
Or finish some other quests first and come back again with 2-3 levels more....
You might also try the Strategy Guides at Gamebanshee:

No worries,

well, try +3 missile wpns, like the sling of everead. Melf minute meteors works too, a mage would be of great assistance in this one. Mordekians sword is great as your hit taker,
failing that, get him stuck in a door way, attack til you are hurt badly, run away, heal w/clerical help, run back, try again.
Repeat until Adm. Golem dead.

Crimson dart +3 is a perfect adamantite golem killer as long as there is a door between you and golem.

Obsidian is right. I (Cavalier) attacked him with the Flail of Ages in the doorway until I was near death and then healed up and pounded him again and again this way 'til he dropped. Good thing the Golem can't heal himself.
As far as Firkraag, there are many threads on how to take him down. Check them out.

what does it depend upon which kind of golems there r?
i did windspear hills almost after everything else in cpt 3 and had nothing worse than iron golems which were kinda easy with jaheira and her sling+5 (and the nice thing, they blocked the doors so the clay/stone golems couldnt get thru).
for fierkraag, i had that today, my only mage in that party is jan and all he did was 2 summonings and 3 magic missiles, the rest with melee action. once his stone skin was down pretty much game over for him (and later i realized i forgot to put on all the dragon shield/armor/sword i just found, woulda been even easier). depending on ur party, with lotsa mages u can think of many interesting ways, with fighters its just hit-hit-slay.
valygar ownz btw, CF and daystar dual wielded with 19 STR and boots of speed, >50% of kills, backstabbing everything to hell

IIRC, the golem you are refering to is after you went through the maze. The ada golem will be stucked before the bridge and a missle weapon like the ones mentioned will usually do the job. Also try arrows of piercing as it is a +4 item.
However the fastest way to kill them is to have a wand of cloudkill and spam it into him. I usually have them recharge to 50 from a store (like sell them and then buy them back) so I don't run out. Golems will die within 4 rounds if you lay 4 cloudkills on top of each other.
If there are no small spaces to block him in, don't worry, there are ways to stop them from coming. Turn your AI off and use stealth from your ranger/thief to block his way to you. If you don't have neither, use a invisibility spell/ring/equipment to block them out. That is actually the cheesy way to beat most melee groups in SOA/TOB. Remember when they have spell casters, they can cast true sight and reveal your blocker(s).
Hope that helps...

A dual-classed fighter-to-mage with mirror images/ stoneskins memorized is the best golem killer I've used. If you have Celestial Fury, it can stun golems (except clay, which it can't hit), but not long enough for the time it takes to kill an adamantium golem. Melf's is probably your best bet if you have neither of those. . .

Thanks for the help
Thanks for all the suggestions. Unfortunaltely, I'm in a crappy position with my current party. I'm going to work through Chapter IV - hopefully get Imoen back and try using her with higher level party and try this Adamantine Golem later.

I have NEVER had a problem with them because they are so easy to get stuck in doors. Just have every one leave the room he is in and he will walk to the doorway but can't get through, you can usualy get your baddest fighter to whack away at him with ease.

, you can indeed stun clay golems with celestial fury. the stun effect will do anything the weapon can hit. best used with imp haste and whilwinds for best effects...
run up an dhave jahiera bash with staf of rynn..

I FINALLY DID IT!
Kudos to UserUnfriendly... your advice worked out for me... sort of. I didn't have Jaheira in my party, but I gave the Staff of Rhyn to Nalia, had her cast Stoneskin w/ Mirror Image, and pounded away for 10 min.
The Golem finally went down.
Here's a trip - that stupid Golem was much harder for me to defeat than Firkraag. Know why?
My main character is a level 13 Monk. I tell you what, Quivering Palm is a beautiful thing! I just walked right up to Firkraag, hit him once and he was down for the count.
Amazing.

quiv palm works vs dragons?!? cool.
i always thought, no this wont work anyway on any bigger guy, but it does?
how exactly does it work? do they get a saving throw, or is all u have to do just hit them in time?
maybe i should use this more often...

I remember my first time in the Windspear hills, the Adamantite Golem was a lot tougher than Firekraag too. The only way I finally killed him, was I equipped the Flail of Ages (My only +3 weapon, even though I h I had was Flail of Ages, so I had no profiencies with it), and I just put all my Healing Potions on that guy, and I finally saw him fall.

I took the Adamite golem alone with my nalia. First cast 3-4 Lower resistance. Then you just cast disenigrate. Very simple
And on Firkraag i just cast som Greater Malison and Feeblemind with my aerie...then slaugher.
