Jester Question

I was planning on playing BG2 as a Jester. I intended to give him the nymph cloak and Blade of Roses to give him a Charisma of 22.
Anyways, What else does having a real high charisma do other than discounts at shops?
Will it make my bard songs better?

AFAIK, a high charisma won't make your bard songs better. A low charisma may mean that NPCs will not join you and the treasure you get after completing quests may not be as good.
However there are at least 3 useful items (a helm, sword and cloak) from the bonus merchants that will raise your charisma, so you might like to give those to your PC or one of your NPCs before talking to shop keepers.

Charisma
It seems to me that charisma efftects the charm spells and/or rings of animal friendship and various elemental control rings... any comments?

discounts stop at 18. I've gotten my Cavilier to 26 char and no addition discount.
I had the Blade of roses,
Helm of glory,
Nymph cloak,
Plate of Balduran or something like that,
and plus one from Watcher's Keep.

A truly amazing Paladin you've got, then, as 25 is the highest possible number in any stat..
And for the record, discounts do not stop with an 18 in charisma.

Does Rep. affects price too?
And if so how?

Both Charisma and Reputation affect prices, in that the higher these stats are, the lower the price for items you want to buy. To my knowledge, they have no effect on the price for items you're trying to sell.
