What's the ONE item you can NOT do without?

We all have a love-hate relationship with polls. But this one occured to me when I was cashing in something like 50 suits of armour and 70 swords. Everything else in the game has an acceptable substitute. But NOTHING is as irreplacable as the bag of holding. If you disagree, try going through the game without it sometime. It's more valuable than party members.

for me it's a tie between Robe of Vecna and Ring of Gaxx.

@Doc: I agree completly (I usually Clua in a second one just because it's so useful). The same goes with the gem bag, scroll case, potion case (big time in ToB) and ammo belt.

This is a tough/easy one (depends on how you look at it). For me, I depend greatly on the Carsomyr (unless there's no Paladins in my party, of course) and Staff of the Magi

I find Carsomyr is highly over rated. It's not that great of a weapon. I always decide upon using the Silver Sword, instead of Carsomyr, just for the vorpal hits.

For me, with a Druid PC now in ToB - I would say the Red Dragon scale armour :D

Boots of speed. These puppies make tanks into fast-reaction strike craft and thieves into U2 spy planes.

Aegis nails it. Anything that stores multiple items. If I start a new SoA game I go right for Watcher's Keep and do a little house-cleaning on the first floor, then back to the game. Everything else is preference. But I do agree Boots of Speed are crucial for your tank. I've often toyed with the idea of putting them on my whole party just because walking is so tedious.

For me, it's Lilacor.
I can't imagine Minsc without it - it keeps him from being a highly annoying buffoon, and makes him instead a highly annoying person to the other side. Too many things try to confuse, charm or hold - and Lilacor makes the difference in battles.

Definatly bag of holding (just collect all that quality armour and weapons, sell and make a fortune). As for boots of speed, I have them on half my party, which makes waiting for the others a dull affaire.
Otherwise I would say Gessen bow or any ranged items that don't require dragging heaps of ammo around.

personaly i like the Flail of Ages the best item, because it is one of the best weapons for my ranger/cleric.

But the best item is the Bag of Holding.
(and boots of speed is a lose second.)

Bag of holding, and the potation case, i got over 109 extra healing, and later on i'll replace them with super healing. along with massive amount of other potations, like 50 thiefery potation, i use jan and he's not the world's best thief so i use those to buff him up when he needs it

I found that I ditched the boots of speed once I reached ToB. Mostly because it's gliched in that one. Besides, there are more effective boots you have equiped.

I thought highly of many items, but during the recent heat wave I realized: you cannot play the game without cooler and several bottles of VERY cold beer in it.
