Just A friendly warning...
Apparently anything you leave in the chests at de'Arnise hold, during the battle, are lost once you take over the Keep from Nalia.
I had left the cold head to the flail in the chest where I found it, near the forge, thinking I'd just get it when I got back. Also I dumped everything my party was carrying in a chest near the front doors, dozens of scolls & potions, etc.
After killing everything and talking to Nalia, imagine my surprise when I went to forge the flail and the 3rd head was gone. Then I went to my other chest, and it too was empty.
A truly massive loss to the party, luckily I carried all the best stuff with us.
Anyway, don't make the same mistake I did.

Simply use ShadowKeeper (an editor) to get what you want:

Monk man I did this first time as well. So the next time I played I just brought in bag of holding. Since I am going solo it is next to impossible to carry every thing.

But like astasfas said. Just bring in those items you lost. Either SK
CLUA. That would be a fair thing to do.

Thanks for the replies, but I'm going to tough it out, as I rarely even use scrolls/potions. Besides, I'm trying to play the game out without 'cheating' in any way.

This occurs with most strongholds in the game, since the map actually changes when you take charge of a stronghold. Bottom line: Don't store any items in a stronghold until you've taken over it.
