I want to share my custom item

Hello people
I made my first custom item and wish to share. I posted this msg earlier, but I made some changes and deleted it, didnt know that deleting my own msg will delete the entire thread
Anyway, the effects are now down to 5% and allows resistances and immunities.
Pls try if interested.
Celestial Wrath is modified version of Celestial Fury, the Katana had improved from a +3 to a +5 weapon. Celestial Fury's ability to cast Lightning Strike once per day when equipped and it's 5% chance of additional 20 electrical damage when sword strikes an opponent had been removed, these properties had been augmented into a Chain Lightning effect whenever the sword strikes, inflicting 1D4 of electrical damage to all enemies near the wielder. The ablity to cast Blindness once per day and stunning the opponent whenever the sword strikes, had also been removed, and replaced by 5% chance of Sonic Wave, which knocks all creatures near the wielder unconscious.
Both Chain Lightning and Sonic Wave allows no save, allows resistance and immunities and is dispellable. Sonic Wave is area effect, thus except for the wielder himself/herself, it affects all creatures including friendly and non hostile NPCs and the unconsciouness last 6 seconds/1 round. Chain Lightning only affects enemies.

How can I make my own custom items? With some program or what?

I know many miss some better katanas, for ToB maybe.
But remember that Katanas are POWERFUL: they inflict the
damage of a TWO-handed weapon, but remain ONE-handed.
And they're fast as a knife.
So intentionally this is balanced in the game, by making
magic katanas VERY RARE items.
You are even warned in the character creation screen...
Making a better katana than Hindo's Doom or CF
it's unbalancing by itself.
That's my opinion....
And I USE katanas!
Just wanted to give an hint, do not flame me!

There is no simple way to edit the .ITM files - first you must extract them from the appropriate .BIF file, edit them with a Hex Editor or a utility such as those available at
TeamBG, then place the edited item into the override folder located in your BGII - SoA directory.

Hi
I am not a purist, I just want to make items that I enjoy playing, that is more important IMHO.
Majority of the custom items around are strong, who wants to make weak and boring items? So long they aren't god-like items that makes the game boring.
I be missing some action for a week or so fixing my PC. I guess I recently downloaded a malicious file perhaps, and some of my system dll files were corrupted and my DSL modem and CDRW is down, I will need to format C and reinstall everything, and also settle some hardware problems.
See you guys around in a week or two.

of course, I was just explaining WHY there are no "good" katanas
in the game!
If you are not a purist, maybe someone else is!
Here purists, non-purists, cheesers, cheaters, AND UserUnfriendly,
ALL are welcome!!!
Have fun!

OK, I succumb to the cheese, warts and all.
Please help me out here. I have downloaded decadurabolin's Celestial Wrath, the thing is, I can't for the life of me figure out how to use the IEE thingy from teambg. Given up on it sometime ago. Is there a way to SK it into my inventory after unzipping?
Thanks in advance.

Nope, sorry, it needs to be an .ITM file. Have you checked the tutorials and FAQ's at
TeamBG?

Yes I have read their FAQs. I am still technically and programmatically (?) challenged. I have also asked around, however, the whiz kids at Team BG are not a friendly lot; they won't gladly suffer fools.

Hi Littiz
I have to agree with you eventually, perhaps I will be adding a small chance per hit (3% perhaps?) that the wielder may die (FOD or any death spell) or drop to one hp (harm) from using Celestial Wrath, due to Ki overload or the ex-kensai or Wu Jen's unhappiness or something etc. Can't do that now coz I be formating C drive tommorow.
Hi Baldursgate Fan
Pls follow these steps,
1. Unzip the winzip file you download, there are two files, one IAP file, and one readme text file.
2. Run the IEES or IEEP and click the "Infinity Addon Patcher" button. You then have the option to select Import or Export.
3. Select the function "Import an IAP/TBG file.", remember, it's Import.
4. Browse to where the IAP/TBG File (CWRATH.iap) is located on your hard drive (the place you saved after unzipping it, usually for WinZip, it is the "unzipped" folder in C Drive)
5. Select it, then click the button "open". It will automatically install everything in the CWRATH.iap to your override folder in the BGII - SOA main directory.
4. There are three files contained inside CWRATH.iap and they are installed into your override folder.
One of them is the CWRATH.itm file, this itm file is the one which you will need to CLUA or Shadowkeep into your game.
The other two files are spl files, they are the spell files for Celestial Wrath's magical effects, just ignore them and leave them untouched.
Now you can you either Shadowkeep them into your game, or you can use the CLUA method.
CLUA method
1. Open the Baldur.ini file in your BGII - SoA main directory and under [Program Options] set Debug Mode to 1 (Debug Mode=1).
2. While in game, press CTRL + SPACE to bring out the console.
3. Type in CLUAConsole:CreateItem("CWRATH"), press ENTER and the item will be loaded into your inventory.
Hope this helps, I am rather new to this too.

Ok, downloaded the editor again and am doing it now. Your walkthrough is idiot-proof, though I can assure I am no ordinary idiot!
Thanks decadurabolin.
Great effort I must say.

On the thing of sharing custom items...
Heres to simple items, but vere worthwhile I think youl agree...
A potion of nagative plain protection and... even better, a potion of Alignment change protection (No worries in hell, blackrazors for all)
