I really couldn't say! I'm so excited I might just wet my pants!
I think it will look something like this:
Moon Elven Mage/Thief
Golden Dwarf Fighter/Thief
Human Mage
Half Elven Cleric
Half Orcish Paladin
Wood Elven Ranger
Kind of boring right now, but when I get the game in my hot little hands, I will think of something better!

Gold dwarf fighter
Half-orc fighter/barbarian
Elven fighter/wizard (develop archery skill)
Aasimar paladin/cleric or maybe a human or half-elf monk/cleric
half-elf druid (with some fighter levels) or bard (with some sorcerer levels)
lightfoot or ghostwise halfling fighter/rogue or ranger/rogue

If all the spells of BG2 will go to IWD2 too I'd say a soloing elf (in IWD propably drow) sorc is best.
Anyway I found the game to be really easy with a soloing sorc. Easier than with a full party.

Methinks :
a Aasimar paladin
a drow sorceror
a halfling rogue (I dislike rogues but you've gotta have em)
a human/halforc fighter (for prestige classing)
a tiefling wizard
and perhaps a ranger/druid

Party party party
Ghostwise Halfling Barbarian. (Maybe buy lots of strength points)
1/2 Orc Ranger
1/2 elf Druid (Maybe elf sub class)
Teifling Bard/Rogue
Human Mage
Gold Dwarf Cleric/ (maybe Fighter)
I like to get a variety of classes so you can use all of the stuff. Might have to double class the half orc as a monk for that reason.
Only 7 more days. (I hope)

Gonna have to look at the rules for specifics, but I think I am gonna run through with a party of four.....
Death
Famine
Pestilence
War

Will your party members also have around 14000+ hit points each?
I don't know what party i will be making for now i'll just wait until i have the game, but the first my PC will propably be a Paladin.

Famine, War, Death and Pestilence would make great characters.
Famine = some kind of skinny elf a rogue (who steals your food)/ druid with whithering spells.
War = orcish traits on a fighter
Death = necromancer secialized mage (or whatever they call that now)
Pestilence = any druid with summon beetles, Insect swarm, etc.

That much experience per character would be rather amusing.
Of course, I would be some type of evil alighnment.

The 4 riders of the apocalypse should be neutral.
They don't act as agents of good or evil. They just are.
Muppets are the true party.
Kermit - Bard/Ranger (He's little and green)(No Slaad characters, huh?)
Ms. Piggy - Monk
Fozzy - Cleric (healing power of laughter, you know)
Scooter - Paladin
Gonzo - Illusionist
Animal - Barbarian/Bard

I know, but I am simply taking liberties......

Evil is much more enjoyable.

True.
It's tempting to take a full party of Drow.
Or maybe all Chaotic Evil Brabarian Teiflings.
Help the ten towns? Buhhhh-low us. (pardon my english.)
