Titles

I have only noticed 3 different titles here: Moderator, member and exalted member. If there were more titles what would you want them to be and how many posts would you need to get them?

I would like to have titles as races, such as drow for 10 posts, dwarf for 50 posts, elf for 250 posts and so on.

SMILES EVERYONE, SMILES!!!

I think that may lead to a horrid kids-party star-trek convention atmosphere where they make all the miserable old men dress up in silly hats and costumes...
I reckon 'exalted member' should be bumped up to 100 posts or 150, so you can actually tell who posts regularly and who doesn't but apart from that, loads of titles leads to heinous meta-spamming of the first water and abundant jargon and base latinities...

sorry? was that an attempt at meta-spamming Rob-N?
anyway also Tanis, you've got the highest posts per day on the whole board...at the rate you're going you'll have a post count of 4000+ in 6 months, so no need to worry about member status ;)

Wow, you guys must be new

There were a few classic threads long ago about this subject. You might want to check. I think both of you fall into the category we named "Wanker"...

The Pre-Spammers Guide to the SYM Forum

1) Thou will have fun
2) Thou will be subject to flaming
3) Thou will introduce thyself to the other members

5) Thou will give up the pretense of having an ofline life.
6) Thou will listen to the moderators

OK ladies and gents, you asked for and you ‘r gonna get it!
This is the new system, applicable only to the SYM forum

It is based on two factors. One is the number of your postings. The second is the content of them. A third – less defining but still usefull – is the general behavior of yours. So , there will be three definitions for each member. #1 and #3 are standard for everybody (depending on # of posts and behaviour) while #2 is unique. #2 could consist of more than one words, limited to three due to lack of space.

So, here it is:

1. According to the # of posts

- Amoeba 0-100 posts
- Sea cucumber 100
- Jr. Member 300
- Member 500
- Spammer extraordinaire 1000
- Elder God 1500
- Philosopher 2500
- Desperate Loner 3500
- Sheep Farmer 5000

2.Behavior indication
-Very kind and friendly, gives answers and helps newbies: Weasel
-Kind and friendly, helps people: Cookie giver
-Friendly, flames only occasionally: Romantic
-Flames but with a good cause, not very friendly: Butt Pirate
-Involved in major flame wars, insults people: Moron
-Flames everyone with no reason, really bad: Higher Moron

3. Personal status:
This is more complicated. Everyone has a personal profile everybody else can see, based on the way he/she/it behaves around the board. So, we can use that image to give him the appropriate name.
For example:

- Fouldimersomething: Goatlover
- Gruntboy: Marine Lover, Princess
- Waverly: Flirtbag, Wanker
- Minerva: Wise Owl
- Alexia: Hulk or Mistress
- Ubik: Pervert

Actually if you want you can find all the stuff here :D :D

also, the coveted ( ) Moderator position can only be given through Buck. Either then that, the other two are fair game. But, if your really interested, there was a thread in the General Discussion forum that oyu can check out to see what most mods and Buck decided it on. I'll try and find the link to post.

*looks at Tanis' SPD* Bah, mine was higher during all of my first two months at SYM. :p

It'd be higher now, but school keeps trying to interfere. :(
